I now pay $4,000 in auto insurance a year! Anyone know of a cheaper company?

My butthole is sore from my new auto insurance policy bending me over. I have Progressive now and I received worse quotes from Geico, esurance.com, and 21st Century...

2002 Acura RSX type-S
I had an accident in 2002 and I got a ticket last year (which is what really hurt my insurance)...

I just found Mercury insurance who said they could do it for $1300 per six months....

Yes, pay off your car and u don't have to keep none. In my case, i got progressive then they started ripping me off, so i decide to rip off the expiration date on it and ever since then i fooled cops, state offices with it.

Funny you should say that! I called my pops on St. Patty's day (his birthday was the day before but I couldn't get ahold of him) and I was pretty drunk. For some reason, I said "Can I tell you something as long as you promise not to tell mom?" and he said "You got a dui!?!?" and I'm like "No! Of course not!!! I was just gonna tell you that I've been chewing tobacco for the last year and I'm trying to quit! Don't tell mom!"....

Ha! I never dry drunk no no no!

Several things affect how much you pay. Like make model and year. Accidents and tickets. Age and how long you been driving. How much you drive your vehicle( i drive less than 7,500 miles a year and knocked off $125 off my 6 month policy). How much deductible. Where you live (I live downtown so that goes against me). Credit score, yes they look at your credit. How many other peeps in the house drive your car. I have State Farm because Progressive and Geico are high and i am a responsible driver!!!! It also varies state to state what you pay. I have a 1999 Chevy Cavalier z-24, 41,000 miles, I am 36 and my policy runs $85 a month for full coverage. My deductible is $250.

Ugh Dook, that is a bit much. I had a minor accident minus a ticket (by going to driving school). I pay 2,400 a year with Allstate, my car is a 1997 Civic Ex. Insurance is ridiculous, but saves your financial ass when or if needed.

acura rsx are rated high on the theft factor, i think they are close to BMW which have a rating of 21+, my Integra was rated a 17 which is fairly high, also you are, as far as I can tell, male which makes it more expensive, age is also a factor too....

that's exactly what i was thinking. i work in insurance, not an agent, but i might as well be one. i've dealt with claims where our insureds were hit and injured by punks driving without insurance. i want to go and smack all of them! they just don't know what they're doing til it's too late. and here in nebraska if you're in an accident without insurance you have to have an SR-22 filing for 3 years, proving you have insurance, or you lose your license. and whenever you want to get your license again, you have to have the SR-22 for three years. having that automatically puts you in high risk. it's really not worth it.

and to DOOK, i'd say definitely shop around. at American Family accidents and speeding tickets are counted against you for 3 years. so if your accident was in 2002 it should go down this year. plus, you gotta think about what kind of car you're driving, and how old you are. insurance is always more expensive for young male drivers. and young male drivers with an accident is outrageous! just don't get any more tickets!! go to an American Family agent and get a quote, if there are any in your state. if not, you might want to try an independant insurance office, they can check out more than one company at a time to see which is best. but, there are some companies (like AmFam) who won't deal with independant agents, so you may still be able to find someone cheaper.

(if you want me to find out what your driving record looks like i can, just orgnote me.)
