I just watched that movie again. For the first time in like 15 years or something. (I made CarrieMpls watch it to!) While It didn't hold up perfectly (some of the scenes made me laugh this time around) it still is a good movie. And Richard Gere is H-O-T in it!

I'm quite embarrassed to have a movie with Keanu on my list. I wouldn't claim that any of the above are great movies, except for In The Company of Men, which I think is absolutely the meanest, nastiest and best-written film since Taxi Driver. The rest of my choices are all flawed to some extent, but they've all resonated with me.

Ace said: ![]() That was on my list, but I bumped it in favour of Beyond the Valley of the Dolls. Probably a poor reflection on me, I suppose: opting for campy t&a over high drama. However I absolutely loathe Alan Alda, so that was a strike against that movie in my book. This is Woody's masterpiece, though - I won't dispute that. [Edited 3/20/05 11:13am]

My bid goes to Vanilla Sky, a movie I know a lot of you probably hate. I love Vanilla Sky. My favourite movie of all time is Shawshank Redemption. That movie is just magic. Second is Pulp Fiction. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

Well... It depends.
Casablanca , La vita e bella, Malena, even Gone with the wind (I prefer the book but still)... These are all very beautiful. Ice Age is really cute. Everything you always wanted to know about sex (but were afraid to ask) is hilarious. Yugo Movies are great but I don't think anybody here knows any of them. And then there are movies such as Memento, Dogville, Almodovar movies etc but I have to be in the mood to watch those. =)

my favorite movie changes all the time. i'm a movie junkie so the list is constantly being amended.
one of my all-time favorites is 'dark city', but it would take too long to list each and every movie that's been my favorite over the years. as for recent favorites, i rented 'secret window' with johnny depp this weekend. it's based on a stephen king project and was genuinely unsettling (although the plot mimicks that in the movie 'chasing sleep'). i did sort of guess what was going on halfway through, but it was still quite well done.

I love, love, LOVE that movie - absolutely one of the most visually imaginative films I've ever seen. It would be on my list if not for the fact that I'm slightly burnt out on it after having watched it repeatedly.
