I haven't had the opportunity to play Super Mario RPG since it came out, but yeah, it was great. I loved both Mario and Final Fantasy at the time, so to have them combined into one game was like a dream come true.

You know what I actually think is the best Mario game, though? Yoshi's Island. A lot of people don't consider that a real Mario game since you really just play a s Yoshi, but I do feel it was a natural (Not to mention hugely progressive) step up for the series.

Yep Yoshi's Island is great too. And it has the controls and feel like a Mario game, so i do consider it a Mario game. I havent unlocked all the secret levels in that game yet from having to get a perfect score in every level.

They don't make video games like they used too

The thing I like about Yoshi's Island (And the real SMB2) is that after all these years they still seem fresh to me. As much as I love SMB1, 3, and World I can't help but feel somewhat burnt out on them at this point.

Nintendo announced a new Super Mario Bros. sidescrolling game for the DS, but I haven't seen anything new about it in a year or so, which makes me worried for it. Somehow I don't think it'll be as good as the others, but it'll still be nice to have another true SMB game (I don't particularly care much for Mario 64).

A new side scroller would be great.
When Mario 64 came out i thought it was so cool because of the new advanced graphics. But after you play it you feel it's lifeless next to the originals.
That's the problem with video games now in days. They focus more on making the graphics look realistic as opposed to creating an imaginative good game.

I really liked the Donkey Kong Country series when it came out, but again once you collect everything it feels burnt out.

I have finished Mario 3, and I enjoy Mario 1.

I think it's Mario 2 that is fuckin' impossible... I don't know where to find the 1-Ups. mad

I don't like falling downward into a screen when I don't know where the platform beneath is located. That off-screen shit happens too much on Mario 2. Or maybe that's like the first level, which is what I end up playing over and over.

Mario 2 is beatable. Two words: Warp Zones! Even if you don't use them, you can manage. I've beaten 2 a number of times but I'm not sure about Mario 1. 3 and 4 (Super Mario World) are very beatable as well, with or without the whistle (3 only).

Super Mario 2 is easy. Beat that all the time. Same with Mario 3.

With the original 3 lives you get at the start or what.

I'm trying to think about Mario 2 and where they are extra lives. You know what...the slot machine! You know how to get those coins, right? It's always best to drop the bottle in an area with a lot of roots (or whatever they are) so you can get a ton of coins. Also, keep in mind, you can only that do twice, so watch it. Not sure how to master the slots. I just do it really fast and pray for cherries.

I've beat all 3 when i was a kid. I had them all.
Mario 3 rocks my cock though. It has to be the best video game ever made!
Mario 1 is really easy.
Mario 2 doesn't have the Mario feel to it.

Nintendo is awesome

People who worship their X Boxes and Playstations have no clue where video games originated. It's all about Nintendo

Did you know that Super Mario 2 wasn't originally a Mario game at all? It was released in japan as Dream Factory: Doki Doki Panic around the same time as Nintendo released a different Super Mario Bros. 2, which looked and played very much like the first game, except it was much harder and gave you the option of choosing between Mario and Luigi at the start (Luigi could jump higher, but his controls were more loose). Doki Doki Panic instead featured a set of arabic themed characters. Supposedly Nintendo thought the real SMB 2 would be too difficult for american audiences, so they swapped DDP's characters for Mario and friends along with a few other changes.

If you can get Super Mario All Stars for the SNES, The Lost Levels game on that is the real SMB 2 that formerly was only available in Japan.

Mario 2 does feel very out of place and I did read something like that. I'd hate to ruin the end, but you know what happens, right? The fact that you can play with four characters with different abilities is cool because you feel you need them at different times (the princess, with her floating, is oveall probably the best). Thanks for the intersting info.

And the last fact is really intersting. I have an SNES (that's as far as I got besides a Gameboy Advanced) so I might check that out. Thanks.

Yeah i knew that. It makes sense cause it is so off from any other Mario game.
And i have Super Mario All stars, it's awesome to have the Lost Levels.

You know what a great game is, Super Mario RPG for SNES drool3

I hate the Lost Levels too. Their basically the original game with different stages. I wish they wouldve had a Lost Levels for Mario 3 or Mario World.

I loved Mario as a kid. Remember Mario VS Sonic? Sonic won the battle but Mario won the war.

Mario 1 is piss now, but as a kid it was hard

Mario 2 was surely bizarre with loads of imagination and charm. It got rock later on too. I know the warp pipes.

Me and my mate for a bored laugh went on mario 3 again. I had all 3 mario games on NES and it was alot harder as no save function was built in! Mario 3 on the SNES was piss with it on. BUT u can find 2 flutes on world 1 (i still remembered them) so we did cheat. That game is looooong.

Mario world is a game I'll have to go back to. I cracked virtually all the levels. I had over 90 levels completed i think? I found all alternate routes and the 2 hidden worlds.....then my older bro wiped it out deliberately mad

SONIC 2 multiplayer was the bomb for me and my mates back when young though. The VS mode was killer.....

I'm not aware of the warp pipes in Mario 2. Guy at work says he got so good at Mario 2 he could finish it without dying once. geek

giggle Even without the wrap zones, there is a narrow chance you can do it. Do you know how Warp Zones work? You take the poition to certain tubes (not tubes, but those pot things you go down into sometimes. The first one is in 1.3 or 1.4 (forgot how many sections they have per setting). Anyway, it's right after that first door you have to go into. You have to take the potion from that little space that has a bunch of roots and bring it all the way there (remember, be careful not to throw it or drop it while those monsters are around). Does that help? Yeah, I guess I'm a geek
