I heard on this show(wife swap) This guy slapped his daughter a couple of times because she didn't have her coat on. The camara crew saw the bruises on her and took her to the hospital. The father was arrested and the show is cancelled. My mom thinks he shouldn't of slapped her on t.v. What do you guys think, do you think he should have been arrested? Do you think it's right to hit a child? I don't know what to believe anymore.

GOOD! these kids these days are not kids anymore, they are possessed beasts that go around shooting ppl in the head. the police's reaction is just an extension of our reality. Maybe if u ppl who have kids took some time 2 raise them instead of handing them over to the MJ's and babysitters of the world they would have some respect and morals and NOT go around with going banannas.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - A 5-year-old girl was arrested, cuffed and put in back of a police cruiser after an outburst at school where she threw books and boxes, kicked a teacher in the shins, smashed a candy dish, hit an assistant principal in the stomach and drew on the walls.



The students were counting jelly beans as part of a math exercise at Fairmount Park Elementary School when the little girl began acting silly. That's when her teacher took away her jelly beans, outraging the child.


Minutes later, the 40-pound girl was in the back of a police cruiser, under arrest for battery. Her hands were bound with plastic ties, her ankles in handcuffs.


"I don't want to go to jail," she said moments after her arrest Monday.


No charges were filed and the girl went home with her mother.


While police say their actions were proper, school officials were not pleased with the outcome.


"We never want to have 5-year-old children arrested," said Michael Bessette, the district's Area III superintendent.


The district's campus police should have been called to help and not local police, he said.


Bessette said campus police routinely deal with children and are trained to calm them in such situations.


Under the district's code of student conduct, students are to be suspended for 10 days and recommended for expulsion for unprovoked attacks, even if they don't result in serious injury. But district spokesman Ron Stone said that rule wouldn't apply to kindergartners.


"She's been appropriately disciplined under the circumstances," he said.


The girl's mother, Inda Akins, said she is consulting an attorney.


"She's never going back to that school," Akins said. "They set my baby up."

Think about this folks, In the district where I worked,Shit like this happened everday but the Principal wouldn't call the . Instead as the teacher, you are stuck to deal with the crazy fucker and you even dared to ask for assistance from the Principal he or she would ignore you and then turn around and write you up to your Supervisor to get your ass fired. So as a teacher in that fucked up situation, you had no other recourse but to a.) get permission from the parent to restrain their child if you had training or b.) constantly call the parent and bug the shit out them so they can come pick up their child from school. The State Of Public School Education In a Urban Setting is really fucked up and something needs to give.

So the Principal that supported his teacher and called the Police, I say great. Dammit, its about time b/c when you work in school in environments where you have seen teachers being stabbed and hit with chairs by students then you can't help but commend this Principal for standing by his teacher.

As for the the suggestion that was made by one of the orgers about capital punishment using a paddle, hell that might be the solution to whip the ass. Its funny when ass whipping was in the classroom, their was no Columbine bullshit going on.

I've grown up in that environment and fortunately have been successful w/ these alternative means. I also think parents need to discipline early and often. Consisitency is the key. I've seen so many kids misbehaving on shows like "Nanny 911" and the parents do nothing.

frankly, a slap in the face is probably the most useful piece of discipline a parent can use on a child. i know it worked on me, especially as a teenager. it should be used infrequently, but you know your mom is pissed when she slaps your face. so pissed that she's lost respect for you. and you can feel that. and it stings, physically and emotionally. you feel that insult like no other. and you absolutely know you deserved it too
