I just got a job as main dishwasher at a supremo busy restaurant. It's pretty easy work, there's just a lot of it.

Problem is, working with industrial cleaners for 6 or so hours at a time has thrashed my hands, and I've only worked four shifts so far! I can't wear gloves b/c I find doing so cuts down on my dexterity, which is a bad when handling glass.

Any suggestions on what I could do to keep my hands in better shape?

there are gloves that will protect your hands and not cut down on dexterity. try surgical gloves from a pharmacy. good luck!

First of all, I read this as... well, like, "I'm a box"... like, you... nevermind.

Anyway... lotion? Get some tight fitting gloves and at night apply some lotion to your hands and then put the gloves on. Sleep with them on. I do that with my feet in the summer because I tend to only wear shoes when it's absolutely necessary otherwise I'm barefoot and it's not so good on the feet... anyway, it works for them and it makes them very soft.
