Positive strokes NO NO NO!!!!!
get your mind out of the gutter I DO NOT MEAN THAT KIND OF STROKING Today i had to learn about positive strokes, which is looking at someone and picking out there good points or improvements and complimenting them on it eg. 2the9s very nice indentation on your forehead you have from the brick i lobed at you. We had to practice and i realised how truely bad i was at accepting compliments when my partner (he was a letch) said "looking good today girl" i went bright red and felt panic does anyone else have such problems with compliments am i a total freak?* please don't tell me i am a freak i will throw bricks and hit you with a fish

I think lots of people have problems accepting compliments, especially when it comes to appearance.
Personally I find it very annoying when I give a girl a compliment and she says anything but "thank you". Women love to bring themselves down even when you're giving them a compliment and it's such a turn off...

yOU ARE A FREAK!
I ON THE OTHER HAND JUST HAVE CAPS LOCKS ON! Errrr, I wouldn't know! he he. Happened today, one of my collegues (in a staff room full of others) said the reason I was getting lots of project students was becasue I was the only "good looking" lecturer. I could have died. My first instink is, your taking the piss, fuck off, you are no oil painting yerself I like the idea of Positive strokes though Happy is he who finds out the causes for things.Virgil (70-19 BC). Virgil was such a lying bastard!

I try not to bring myself down and if it is a compliment at work ie: You have worked well today, i take pride in that so long as it's nothing too over the top but appearence wise i can't handle it unless i go OTT "yeah i know I'm great arn't I" I tend to tell people that it makes me uncomfortable. A coincidence was that i was discussing this very thing last night with a friend that i hated compliments and they made me feel really uncomfortable.

this is something we did in a class back in the 80's in high school
i think its a great life skill and it is nice to just accept a compliment and not dig, looking for another to back up the 1st simply saying thank you and MEANING it is a good skill too ... really hard for alot of people to do though, i never really did understand why so many have problems accepting a compliment thats FREAKY right there !!
