ive talked before about when i had my first baby that i gave up for adoption...

but, the last time i saw her in the hospital before i left... i tried so hard to wake her up, i just wanted to say goodbye the best i could, my heart was breaking and i just needed one more moment with her. the nurses tried to help.. they used a wet tissue on her lil feet, tickled her feet, unwrapped her from her blanket... nothing was working, she was just to tuckered out i know that i heard the music that was playing in there, but i wasnt focused on it really at the time. i asked the nurses to please tell her when she woke that her momma loved her so much, and that she would never be forgotten, and would always be in my heart... with that, i left


but, on the way out.... i heard the song that was playing, it was AGAINST ALL ODDS by phil collins... and the words are haunting to this day -

I haven't been able to hear Amazing Grace since my father's funeral in 1983. Every time I hear it I have to leave and I don't care where I am. I told them not to sing it at my sister's funeral and they did anyway. I lost it and ran out of the church! I don't know why but when I hear non-singing folks do their rendition, it does not bother. It does not sound the same. Let a gospel singer belt it out and I am on the floor having an asthma attack. Weird.
