Question About DVD Format

I ordered Body Melt from a guy in England and just got it in the mail. It won't play. sad

Is it because of the format? It says on the back:

DVD 5 Format/PAL All Regions

Is it my DVD player just being fussy like it can or is it because it says PAL?

If it is because of the format... what can I do so I can watch it?

I will. I just never even gave it a thought when I bought it.

So, I guess this means I'll have to actually get myself cleaned up and find something else to do for a few hours. I was trying to avoid that... smile

US is region 1. PAL you simply cannot play here. We're NTSC. Some disks are 2 sided with Pal on one side and NTSC on the other.

You need to do one of the following...

1) return it
2) get a region free DVD (not a bad thing these days TRUST ME) There are LOTS of cool stuff you can't get region 1
3) Try cracking your DVD player to see if it CAN play any region. SOme players...you can punch in a code and Viola..region free. You should try googling how to do this. I tried looking up to see if my DVD could be cracked...but I no longer know where to go to finsd that out...

Anyone here know?

Thanks for the info. I'm sure I wouldn't have any luck with the code. My DVD player is so ancient, there probably isn't one for it. At least I'll be more aware next time. I really wasn't thinking... I just wanted the movie and it was at a great price.

hmmm maybe you can somehow reformat it? I've been converting DVD videos and turning them into avi's for my computer (and the programs I have seem to have or recognize different regions)...though that means it would end up on you computer...not the same...never mind.
