and the most recent (and my fave) a celtic symbol with my sons name in the center lower (WAY lower) back i want more... Ok, I mean NO offense with what I'm going to say, because I agree, it's a beautiful tat and my nephew shares the name. BUT, since you included your son's name, might not another location have been better? I mean it's kinda weird when your lover is looking at your son's name during the deed. I think your son might think it's a little weird too when he gets older. My son probably would *croak* if I had his name tattoo'd back there (and he's 25 now). It's bad enough for kids to wrap their heads around their parents actually having sex (me & sisters think ours only did it 3 times we were conceived ). Then when they learn what doggy-style is, think of someone reading their name and hear lower-back tat's be called 'tramp stamps', they probably would wish you'd placed it elsewhere. Unless, of course, you plan on keeping it a secret from your son forever, then...nevermind.

Just knowing she went to these lengths to immortalize her son is all that is necessary to anyone that has done it. Location that you seem to have so much passion about is just another societal pressure you have voluntarily placed on your psyche and tells me that you do not see the body as a wonderful canvas or even a godly work of art. And furthermore, you are making the body out to be something that it was not set up to be and that is taboo, no matter how you look at it. It is just a body...a beautiful expression of life, so how you wish to celebrate that fact is truly up to you, but you need to not think of it along those terms as you are really not seeing the entire picture. Celebrate your body and stop hindering the growth of your children according to something conjured up in some book. Location???? Pffffft. Carry on... ....and another thing....
Where should it be? I mean when she makes love to whomever is she to lay on her back if the tatt was on her shoulder and not allow herself to be pleasured there? If it were on her chest, should she not allow it to be seen there either and only fuck on her stomach or doggystyle? If it were on her leg, should she not allow her lover to lick her from head to toe? Good Grief!! 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9..... You need to get out more...go see the world and get out of that blind microcosm you call life. But maybe you should just hide your thoughts, and if so...then nevermind. I guess you are attempting to make a "point" with a dumb question.
I can disagree with anyone I choose, or are you the fuckin Dalai Lama and have no thoughts that aren't congruent with the entire world? The man who does not read good books has no advantage over the man who cannot read them. -- Mark Twain.

Is this the Victorian Ages or what??? Dang, settle down. No, I don't have any tat's (for my own personal reasons), but my son has 3 and other family members have them too. It's not like I hate tattoos or piercings, I even have an ear cartilage one...big whoop. I do think some tat's are very beautiful and yes, I do appreciate the human body. It's merely a different point of view and is not meant in the serious manner your response was. I wasn't attacking her at all or saying that she shouldn't have it somewhere visible. It is a nice tat, but seriously, thinking into the future sometimes is good. In my opinion, knowing how a lot of guys are, this particular tattoo might have been better elsewhere. Why is that so wrong of me to say? I don't think there's too many guys who want their names used as 'targets' on their mom's ass! Maybe you don't think that way, Dex, but think like a 15 yr old male, instead of so esoterically. Would you want someone spooging on your name? (hmmm...maybe I hang out on fark.com too much) [Edited 3/16/05 0:54am]

I know if they'd said anything to her she would've come crying to me - but then again she probably hasn't thought to show anyone or ask anyone and they'll be about to put it in and go "um, there's nowhere to shove this thing in cause of your enormous horse picture" (go research on the internet, I say, you're bound to get an answer there )

"This is 100% false. If you do have an anesthetist who makes this type of claim, refuse their services all together because they are incompetent. Speaking as a mother who knows many women who have had epidurals through their tattoos, it is harmless and has no impact on the epidural. I did a quick search on some public medical journals and they all state that there is no evidence or information of possible risks from inserting needles through tattoos during the performance of neuraxial anesthesia.
I have had nurses tell me they can't draw blood because of my full sleeves. They claim they can't see the vein and I usually just tell them to feel for it. They "ooh and ahh" over being able to do it as if tattooing was some kind of impenetrable armor. Long story short, if you're pregnant, make sure to talk to your doctor about this beforehand. Make sure they know you have lower back tattoos and that the anesthetist won't have a problem with it. Don't let someone deny you the pain relief you may require over something that is a myth."
