Thank you so much... every single one of you have been told at one time or another how I feel about you. I can't express enough how appreciative I am for the opportunity of getting to know so many beautiful souls. This place is truly powerful in such a diverse and universal way. I often think how much of this incredible awareness... the knowledge of all of you... would of never existed in my life if it were not for this crazy/beautiful org. I thank you all endlessly, always.

This is going to be a good year, a prevalent one at that I truly believe. I am starting a new position in the hospital in just over a weeks time. I am leaving Nutrition, although taking all my beautiful memories and more. The position in the hospital will be in Pediactric Unit, my chance again to work with children... something I have done for many years (9 years teaching Montessori) previous to entering Nutrition. Nonetheless, I have shared many stories of working with Cancer patients as well as the entire hospital, nearly five wonderful/growthful years. Amazing how time flies...

Now as a Certified Elementary Teacher and a couple of other educational focuses including my NA and Emphasis in Art... I get to work with children once again. I will admit I was torn between teaching and working in the hospital. The amazing part is... I am getting the chance to have the best of both worlds. The position is Titled: Child Life Assistant, I get to be a part of the Child Life Specialists (whom are Social Workers for Pediactric patients). I get to plan activities for the children and will have freedom to get creative, both in the playroom and at the bedside of children who are unable to attend outside their room. My duties basically... are to have fun, provide a comfortable environment that will aid in lowering the anxieties of being in the hospital. Our hospital is now an offical Children's Hospital and the expansion is in progress at this time.

Main goal... in two years there will be a new Children's Tower... with a fullsize classroom. Full-time onstaff teachers will be needed. SCORE! My feet are in the door! My Coordinator and many staff members I have known for years know my ulitmate goal/dream is to teach. Currently, I am the only Certified Teacher in the Child Life Group. I also can focus on interning hours to become a Specialist as well, if I choose. My... so many possibilities await. I am so ready for this journey.

I am so grateful for my life. 34 years... it seems like it is just beginning.
