I forgot the name of the winner of the Surf competition last week. He was from Santa Cruz though. He left with $10,000. Not bad for a days work.

Anthony Tashnick. He left with 25K, actually. The surfer in the photos, Jeff Clark, was the event director.

My bad! This event is going to keep getting bigger and bigger. I swear, I didn't even know we had waves that big and I've been to the Half Moon Bay area, duh!!

A co-worker lent me that surfing GIANTS movie. I'm going to watch it this weekend.

Riding Giants was awesome. I just finished watching it. It is really incredible. The movie just gets getting bigger and bigger throughout. You really have to have respect for these guys. It made me want to learn how to surf. The size of the some of the waves....wow. It's incredible how these guys survive the wipeouts, well at least some survive. The part on Mavericks is very cool too. It definately has to be the most dangerous what with the sharks and jagged rocks and the freezing cold.

You must check it out STAX. This ones a keeper, I'm burning it tonight.

My boyfriend is a surfing nut. We couldn't make it to Mavericks that day, but we went Thursday. We always go to the coast, and it's really close.
