Daily:
Noxzema* Johnson & Johnson's Baby Oil Gel (Aloe Vera & Vitamin E)* Coco Butter (with Aloe Vera & Vitamin E) Ivory soap (really cleanses the pores, I use mosturizer afterwards) Every two weeks: St. Ives Apricot Scrub (exfoilates your skin)* - or - Simple cornstarch (you can find it in the grocery store)* Also, I don't use it on my face, but, 3 liters of water everyday really does wonders for your skin and pores. You'll start glowing. * = recommended to me by an acquaintance of mine who was a model/video girl (I've been using these products for years and always get compliments) [Edited 3/9/05 16:20pm]

I think once you get past a certain age though some things don't work for you. Over time your body chemistry changes. I used to have the simplest skin regiment for YEARS, used basic stuff (Noxema, Neutrogena). But they stopped working for me for some reason. Gotta find something new, wouldn't be shocked if it's more expensive too That's true. Even stuff like Noxema is goin' up these days....well their newer line of products out now. looking for you in the woods tonight Switch FC SW-2874-2863-4789 (Rum&Coke)

Ex-Moderator | I'm currently using Oil of Olay Complete UV Defense (for sensitive skin). Being fair-skinned, I need all the spf I can get, even when it's cloudy. I switch between that and Clinique's moisture drink (or whatever it's called).
However, I'm finally in the market for some *gasp* wrinkle cream! I've been freaking out about turning 30 this year and was staring in the mirror the other day and noticed the faint beginnings of lines around my eyes. I don't want to get old. |

I used Pevonia products for a while, too, I really liked them. Can't remember why I stopped using them--I probably just got bored. I'm sort of a product slut, always thinking there's something better out there.
If I were you, I'd stick with Pevonia if it's working. Break it down: $90 divided by 5 months = less than $20 per month, which is about $5 per week. Less than $1 per day. Right? So it's not THAT bad, especially if nothing else works as well. But if you're bored and/or totally broke, you need to take your skin type into consideration when you choose something else. I subscribe to a jillion magazines that talk about products, and all of them say that the good drugstore brands are Neutrogena, Oil of Olay, Aveeno, Cetaphil (the classic) and now Dove has a new line of skin care products out that are supposed to be great.

Forgot to add...
It's also nice to invest in some great sunscreen. I use sunscreens with an SPF of 30 or higher for maximum protection. Coppertone Spectra 3 is great for when you want to block the sun's harmful rays.

i use cetaphil for my face and carol's daughter's -- mango body butter -- for general moisturizing...it keeps my skin nice during the evil chicago winters...

Da one i currently use is to da left (smellz like watermelon)...and prior 2 dat in colder monthz i used da one on da far right (smellz like vanilla)!! Everything i use except for a once every 2 day retinae treatment, is from Cosmedix as my skin specialist swearz by them- they do facial peelz with pumpkin seed extractz etc...very very good and incredibly effectivez. I paid about $90 for da bottle of moisturizer...i'm not quite halfway through it and i bought it around September/Octoberz No hablo espanol,no!

When i first went to my skin specialist, she said it'z probably one of da more reliant productz from da off-da-counter skincare market. Alot of productz are designed only to target da upper-dermi layer...so if anyone expectz somethin miraculous out of any cream whether it be for wrinklez, frecklez or blemishez- one must think againz!! I used Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing lotion for years. Last year a skin care specialist told me not to use it anymore. She told me it's not a very good product, even though it's very popular. She told me it was very heavy and even though I'm 41, I should be using something lighter because I have combination and sensitive skin. The Pevonia is beautiful and I like it a lot, but I thought I should try something a bit less expensive.
Your responses have given me many products to choose from, now I just have to decide which one to try.
