doc says its time to slow down a bit, and wrote a script for valium and a sleeping pill for nighttime.... also, some antidepressants... hopefully they kick in soon sigh

anyway, part of my being jumpy makes it hard for me to take these damn pills bawl i've taken them before, its not that big of a deal... but, help ease my mind, anyone have any horrible stories about them ???

I'm sorry to hear of your troubles ..

Please be careful with the valium as it's very addictive stuff. In my case I was prescribed just a few tablets a couple of years ago when I broke my hip, and I can tell you after I'd taken the last tablet I wished I'd had more.. getting dependent on something probably won't be helpful at this point.

I hope you pick up soon..
Life it ain't real funky unless you got that orgPop.

thanks guys hug

i will be careful nod

its unfortunate but true, i may be on this stuff for quite a while... so, becomming addicted isnt really a concern it seems for this doctor shrug i get confused about doctors orders sometimes.. they want you to take meds, knowing that they can potentially addictive, but then they say - for you, its ok... disbelief

also... the ambian, thats a sleeping pill. also addictive shrug ive been on that for months at a time... this is the second doctor to give me the same exact medical advice, what am i supposed to do ??? they say listen to your doctor, but, i cant help but wonder if they always know what they're doing.

thanks again guys hug

As long as the pro's outweight the cons it's all good.

Eh, I wouldn't really worry about valium especially if it's a low dosage. If you find that you're starting to really NEED it then maybe you should look into taking valerian root instead. It's a natural muscle relaxer and will help take the edge off. You can get it at any GNC or herbal store.

i am lucky, my doctor was good with prescriptions

if they are working keep taking them the time to worry is when the drug interferes more with your life than the symptoms did before you take them.

I suffered from depression that was untreated (my choice i thought i could deal with it) and the outcome was i am really lucky to still be here today.

There are other medications that are less addictive but may have other unwanted side effects

Natural extracts are unreliable.

But it COULD work so why not try? It's better than giving pharmaceutical companies more money.

as i explained to the doctor... i deal with depression on a regular basis, im used to feeling 'unhappy' but this time, i would say i was at maybe one of the worst states i've ever been. i credit my children for the reason im still here... i couldnt ever leave them, it would kill them. but, this time around i really just wanted to die.

Right let's give money to "supplement" companies that do little or no research at all. confused

Pharmacueticals are RIDICULOUSLY expensive. This supplement is all natural and you can research the ingredients yourself to see if they will be harmful.

Sorry, I work at a medical school and it makes me HATE pharmaceutical companies.

well in that case addiction is the least of your worries.

have you talked to your doctor about therapy, talking therapy along side drugs help nod and the talking therapy can help you off the drugs too when you feel ready.

yup, you have to be in therapy or they dont order meds for you... talking helps, sometimes keeping it in is just to much rose

i am feeling better than i was a few weeks ago though, i actually scared myself into getting help sigh

It's not safety I'm worried about, it's effectivity which concerns me. If there's a medical problem it should be addressed with proper medication at the right dose.

I'm not a big fan of them either, I'm just lucky most of my meds are fully covered. smile
