With the exception of cigarettes and alcohol, I have the odd spliff ocassionally with friends. I do think it is just a phase however and I can't see myself smoking cannabis forever. My friends do endulge in other drugs from time to time with the exception of heroin but I admit I am a bit afraid to try anything. I am tempted to try ecstasy or magic mushrooms but I don't think it will be likely.

For me E's and coke, and the occassional toke were definitely a lifestyle a few years ago. I used to attend lots of house 'parties', and go clubbing every weekend Now there are no good clubs where I live...or rather, no serious clubbers. My lifestyles changed as a result, but when I move back to London maybe I'll go back to the old lifestyle... it all depends on moolar, and more likely, how I'll feel living with my girlfriend for the first time. Why when discussing drugs to people tend to say “with the exception of tobacco and alcohol” – it’s been said on this thread too. What makes it an exception – the fact that it’s legal ? – Does that make it any less destructive ?

I don’t make such a distinction. So, to answer the question – Yes, recreational drugs are part of my lifestyle, because I regularly drink alcohol and smoke tobacco.

I also smoke cannabis but that doesn’t count because it’s not a drug, it’s an herb.

I agree with EWM – you (everybody) should try acid – Free your mind and your arse will follow.

Have seen what states people get into when they fall in love with these things, glad I will never feel that way myself.

I smoke a lot of pot, but other then that I don't really do drugs. I quit smoking cigarettes and drinking and more serious drugs like coke, heroine, and meth (3 months). I still pop a Vicodin every once in a while. I'm only 16, so it's a lifestyle for me right now, but a phase in the way that I don't want to live like this forever. (especially with the harder drugs, that's why I quit them).

acid is good a few times, but having taken 13 consecutive weekends of trips I can tell you that it can also scare the fuck out of you. putting it in the water would be a VERY bad move, if you ask me. the world would literally go insane!!

I have to say, I think some drugs can be nice, but I had a professional (hot stone) massage for the first time the other day, and I was so completely blissed and looped from that. . .man. . . it was right up there with sex and E. High on life, baby. Now, it was much more EXPENSIVE than sex or E, but hey. . .
