Even when I'm in the mood to hear a specific artist or album, it's hard for me to break the habit of keeping my player on shuffle. I think it's because I miss having radio stations that I actually like, and this is the closest thing I have to hearing music played at random that I can get excited about.





Of course, I just got my player a couple weeks ago. This is a total newbie question, isn't it?

i don't own an ipod. but if i did i would keep it on shuffle so i can hear all the music that i really like that i've horded and forgot about. i think it gives a freshness to it.

The only time I'm not on shuffle is when I'm listening to newly imported albums for the first couple of times...

And now Apple's greatest minds come up with this all new idea...

I have a TON of playlists geared towards various moods (most of them some variaton of "stormy/moody/depressed/mopey" ), and I basically never listen on shuffle, except maybe within a large playlist.

with the ipod shuffle, it limits u to shuffle EVERYTHING, with the ipod u can shuffle within playlists or albums, or the whole thing if u want...

yep--i just bought an ipod shuffle (the $99 one--i ain't got that many mp3s in order to get the 1GB one, plus that one costs too much) and it comes with the option of either listenin to whatever you've downloaded in order or shuffled. i always keep mine shuffled, cuz it's funner that way.
