I'd suggest you started with a couple of piranhas.
Then go adding any other fish you want. Piranhas love them all. and see what happens

No, really.
Go to a reliable shop and ask for advive there. Thay can be very helpful. Unlike that guy that sold me a needle fish. I told him where I was going to put it and he said there was no problem. And as soon as I placed it in the aquarium it opened it's mouth like a crocodile and massacred my poor fish

I bought a fishtank for my daughter. It just cost me $100, with the pump, and a couple of goldfish. If they die...they're only $3 a pop.

Set up your aquarium a couple of days before you get your fish.
Then get some mollies and maybe some angel fish. Wait a couple weeks and get the other fish. This helps balance the bacteria levels in the water-very important The basic rule is one inch of fish per gallon of water but if you have really good filtration you can get a few more fish. Have fun! Make sure you setup the whole system at least a week or better ten days prior to buying the fish so that the beneficial bacteria gets enough time to populate the filter. Anubia plants are easy to maintain for beginners. Get some guppies or danios or mollies or platies because goldfish are nice and easy to maintain but they make a lot of dirt, plus they ´re not very compatible with other fish....they´re friendly, but their metabolism is different.
Orgnote me if you have any further questions. Get yourself a second hand aquarium or look for some reduced bargains at the pet store. I have two tanks and I also keep mangrove crabs from Thailand.
