Ok...CarrieMLPS, Case and Supa are all renouned compliation CD composures (along with Anxiety and Subby.)

So...in the spirit of healthy competition, we have set up a little contest.

OFFICIAL RULES:

You may submit ONE (1) 74-80 minute mix CD with songs by various artists/time periods to each of the judges by mail (it will be up to the judges to org note their addresses to the contestants so they can get the CDs) or by uploading it. Anyone who wants to enter as a contestant must org note me by Monday, Jan. 17, 2005. All entries must be in by February 18, 2005. Judges must make their final decisions and have them into me by Sunday, Feb. 27, 2005. I will announce the winner (by thread) on Monday, Feb. 28, 2005.


SORRY GUYS!!! SOME PEOPLE ARE HAVING TROUBLE WITH SHIPPING, ETC...

OK...the contestant list is closed. Judges...org note your addresses to the contestants. Once you get all of the mixes, please rate each CD on a scale of 1 to 4 (1 being the best 4 the least)...then take all of the category 1 CDs and rate them from 1 to 4...continue on until you have only four CDs left. At that time rate those mixes from 1 to 4 and those will be your top four CDs. I stress to the judges to keep their scores private and only share them with me.
On Sunday, Feb. 13 org note your top four CDs to me and I will calculate the results and post the top four CDs on Feb. 14.

Feb. 21, 2005 UPDATE: Ok dudes...the deadline was Friday. The contestants who haven't mailed off their mixes are out of luck.

Let's set a date for everyone who wants to participate to sign up. And should we limit it to a certain number? We don't want our judges to be overwhelmed.

And no...you can't be a judge and participate. I also think that judges should be screened for who they are close to on the Org. In other words, you can't be a judge if you're super close to just one person. We gotta be impartial.

I'd rather be a judge to be honest as well, I love making mix CDs ( power) but I think the option of possibly cultivating talent into the next big thing could be great.

We could have people audition and then compete each week-and critique their mixes with dry wit but with lots of heart.

Then we have them play them in a hall for audiences and every week a CD is thrown out of the car window.

We could bring in celebrity judges such as Weird Al and one of the surviving members of the A-Team, preferably Dwight Schultz (Murdock).

Maybe we could have sponsors and then at the end we can saturate the market with nothing but:

YOUR MIX CD!!!
