Mazda tried really hard to keep the new, 3rd generation Mazda MX-5 Miata under wraps until its official unveiling on March 1st, but it seems that a bunch of promotional photos got leaked a few days ago:

My thoughts....

1) Very nice job on the exterior. It looks like a modernized tribute to original Miata. And the self-booting top is a nice new feature... installing the manual boot on my (2nd generation) Miata was always a pain.

2) The interior is another matter, though. Maybe it'll grow on me, but right now I think it looks like the result of a collaboration between Pontiac and the people who designed the recent BMW's.

Still, I look forward to seeing it in person and (hopefully) taking one for a test drive.

But can it fly?
