in light of the org CD competition being put off yet again.... a few of us have made a decision. the work that was submitted by us took time, energy, and effort on our parts... however, we did it and got them to the judges on the day that they asked them to be there originally. the judges asked that we submit a CD either by mail or by link, the people below chose to send it by link.... as stated that that was allowed to happen. however, a few of the judges felt that we also needed to send CDs to them at their address that they sent each of us so... in the end, it was the belief that they may not have even listened to them to begin with due to lack of patience in downloading the music on slower systems. this was offensive to a few folks - and probably shouldnt have been made part of the contest if it wasnt going to be judged on the same merit. and now the date has now been moved back for the 3rd time, and frankly, i believe its kinda silly.... so heres the new plan we are going to share with the org and it is with our hopes that you enjoy the music, hopefully there is something in there for everyone

The first deadline was February 1st, with the winners being announced Feb. 14th...then, it got moved back to February 18th because of downloading and postal delays, with the winners being announced Feb. 28th. Not sure where the other two delays come from...???

I just think that waiting an extra 10 days isn't any big deal...sharing our mixes won't feel any less enjoyable on the 28th than it does on the 18th. And after all the headaches and complaining that went on with the Org Valentine's Day thing, I just think it's better to chill out and enjoy it when some Org group activity is taking place, than it is to find fault when everything doesn't go just the way you hoped...Things happen, no big deal. Submit your mix CD, go about life....come back when they announce the winner, then enjoy everyone's efforts.

i totally understand what you mean byron and i thank you for always being so levelheaded

but, see the thing is... JUST like in the valentines day deal... folks wanted in on it after they saw how much fun it was... that put me in a bad spot because i couldnt keep adding folks, as much as i wanted everyone to be included... it just couldnt happen that way. thats what cut off dates are for. you have to have it in by a certain time, if you dont, then, i guess you didnt make it.... however, things keep being pushed back, it just doesnt seem very fair to those that had it done and in on time to begin with


plus, there were judges that werent to excited about hearing one sent in by link anyway sooooo, all in all, yeah, it was great fun.

i just dont support the changing of the rules at the last minute... thats all

I didn't think it was a big deal to push back the dates the one time, as people were having technical glitches and having to mail things they weren't intending to do and so on...
