Ya'll have no idea, this is now a running joke with my friends. I sent an email to a bunch of folks asking for someone to come over tonight to jump my car and they are all saying they don't want to become enablers of my reckless bahavior.

For the life of me, I can't seem to routinely remember to turn my headlights off on my car. The little ding-y sound that's supposed to go off when you leave your lights on does not work for some reason and I've left them on at least 12 times in the last year. Sometimes more than once in the same week. I'm really not an airhead (I swear!) but I just can't seem to consistently remember to do this ONE thing. I've already replaced the battery once. The last time was just yesterday when I got home from work. I left to go to work this morning and discovered a dead battery, yet again. Now, I have a Triple A membership, but even with the expensive level you only get 4 free service calls a year and I've already used up 2 in the first few months. So I decided to suck it up and walk down the block to take the bus to work. Which I actually don't mind, cause it gave me time to stop for coffee, walk around downtown a tiny bit, it's quite a nice morning, etc.

But how am I ever going to remember to turn my lights off???

i hate this idea that women and cars dont mix! its like when you go to the car part store to pick up a windshield wiper..or a headlaight...or a dome light...or a belt..or some fuses...or whatever you might be there to pick up, and the clerk treats you like you are a complete idiot and couldnt possibly find it yourself...because you are a woman. i hate that!

Also - the car is over 10 years old. It seems silly to pay to fix something like that. If I'm putting any money into the car at this point, I would first put in a radio or CD player or something.

Everything automatically shuts off in my car and the car won't lock if the keys are in the ignition. If I ever get a car that doesn't do these things I am sooooo screwed!
