If you go to an ENT doctor they will use a vacuum to clean out your ears and while it does a great job it's pretty scary as you can feel the sucking inside in your head.

That procedure is actually a lot better than the water injection since it's not good for your eardrum to have water splashing forcefully against it. I've had both done to me and after the water thing I always have a ringing in my ear for days afterwards plus the water takes a while to dry out and starts to itch in the meantime. The vacuum method just gets the job done, period.

Yeah, I've heard about the ringing sensation after treatment too. That's what scares me a little , coz I got to go for a hearing test in a month or so. They say having your ears syringed a month before can help with the test results

p.s. If proper technique is administered by your doctor, the 'syringe gush' is aimed at the roof of the ear canal to avoid damage of the ear drum. However I take your point after reading stories of the procedure going wrong

My Mom just had ear candling done today...

She said she can't tell any difference than before she did it. Maybe it takes awhile...I don't know. She's plagued with chronic sinus infections, so we thought this might help
