the old firm this weekend (tribal warfare)

hi guys , i am a celtic fan and celts play rangers this weekend "tribal warfare" for want of another expression .

circumstances dictate rangers are top of the league on goal dif, (because celts game at i c t was cancelled). oh and barry ferguson is back ! big deal ?

anyway how do u guys think it will go ?

will celts or gers win ?

will bellamy make his debut ? will he score ? or get sent off ??

will the over confident gers fans go home wi their tails between their legs ?

me 1st,....

celts 3 . gers 1 bellamy , hartson and petrov with wee barry getting a consolation for them.
lol

There is nowhere to hide for them

I'm a Celtic fan as well and I predict that the outcome of this game will be a convincing 3-0 victory (Hartson, Sutton, Bellamy)

The unnatural levels of confidence displayed by Rangers will make it all the sweeter on Sunday. Remember, this team have not won at Celtic Park for 6 years!!

Easy home win for the Celts. What do other orgers form the UK think?

In terms of Scottish football, I keep my eye on the top of the table, and try to watch old-firm games whenever possible... they're usually great to watch smile

I think Celtic will win the game, and that Bellamy will run riot in that league... ehile he's there!

A.C. v Inter... Roma v Lazio... Spurs v Arsenal... Man. City v SCUM Utd... Accrington Stanley v Nelson & Colne Young Offender's College, can all take a back seat when it comes to furious "derby" passion! (and it pinches me to say that includes the Mersey derby too).

'Coz in footballing terms this is the MOTHER FATHER BROTHER SISTER of them all! NO joke nod

Enjoy the game "BHOYS" ( wink ) and be safe! thumbs up!

All derbys are passionate to a greater or lesser extent, but from what I've heard and all the people I've spoken to, the Glasgow derby is by far and away an event to attend atleast once in every footy fans life wink

Celtic Park and Ibrox are said to be literally "bouncing" when they clash! nod

biggrin

This one is going to be amazing, because for the first time in a while, the knuckledraggers from Ibrox think they've got a chance.

Roll on Sunday!!

The 'Gers have been banging in some heavy goals lately boxed

But then again, didn't you beat them in the cup or something recently? (I may be wrong on that boxed )

Yeah, last month we beat them in the cup

Theyve been scoring, but theyve been scoring against a bunch of nobodies

Sundays the real test, and I think theyre in trouble!!!

(Of course, I'm biased!!)

It can all go a bit "Pete Tong" if you lose boxed

Coz then if you win your game in hand you'll be level pegging but way behind on 'goal difference'.

(I'm just venting out bad vibes coz we didn't use our game in hand to close on the Toffees mad )

I think Celtic have the advantage simple because it’s a home tie. Celtic have been well below par for the past 18 months in my opinion. Yes we have still won the league but they have fallen well short of previous years standards. Home games at Celtic Park can be such a bore. It was boring beating Aberdeen, Motherwell or Kilmarnock 4 or 5 nil, now it’s just one or two. Anyway I’m hoping for a DVD score line, 5- 1 or 6 -2 but I think there will only be a goal in it. C’mon the Hoops! drink

Why do they refer to old firm games in the context of religious bigotry? I’ve never witnessed any theological discussion between old firm fans. danielboon rightly referred to it as ‘tribal warfare’.

Its lazy journalism.

Its easy to pigeonhole one as Catholic the other as Protestant, when thats unaccurate to say the least

tribal Warfare sums it up more succinctly

i think it will be close...rangers have improved slightly and celtic have went backwards since henrik :worship:left..i think celtic will sneak it by one goal, 2-1 maybe rangers do seem to be slighty overconfident but better teams teams than them have fallen at celtic park in recent years...so where are all the gers supporters?

Ok, I'm off out for a pre match night out, then up for the game early doors, so the next time I'm on the org, the Celts should have skelped the minions by 2 or 3

Don't forget NUFC vs the Mackems. I miss those games... I just hope next time we play them it's in the top division not the Championship!
