Burglar alarm went off Has anyone ever been taking a shower and had their burglar alarm go off? I was in the shower last night around 1:00 am and my alarm was tripped, which meant a door was opened. I was soooo scared. I turned the water off and stood there shaking, naked, dripping wet and totally vulnerable. My little dog was in the bathroom with me too, shaking as well.
I waited for what seemed like hours (but was only minutes) for the police to come, hoping there wasn't some crazed Norman Bates stalker downstairs ready to come up and kill me. When the cops did come, I had to greet them at the door in only my bath towel (embarassing!) because I was too scared to leave the bathroom and put on some clothes. My back door was slightly ajar. I thought I slid the bolt in the door before I went upstairs to go to sleep but I didn't. The wind must have blown it open, at least I like to think that. But that's not the end. Since I was still a bit frightened after the police left, I left the lights on and couldn't really fall asleep. About an hour later, I hear this thump coming from the bathroom. After my heart come back up to my chest from my stomach, I decided to be brave and go look - a bottle of hair gel fell off the counter onto the floor. Needless to say, I didn't sleep much and kept the lights on all night.

Moderator | Have an early bed tonight.
That's scary, but at least you and your dog are okay. Next time before you go to bed or take a shower, check all your windows and doors for peace of mind. Keep a bat in the bathroom or under your bed. Ohh purple joy oh purple bliss oh purple rapture! I can only dream of leaving doors open, unlokced, etc. Not that I live in a bad neighborhood, but it's just instinct when you live in the city. I don't know if I could live up in the mountains, I'm a city girl at heart - burglar alarms and all Seriously, though, that was some scary shit last night.
