Ya know, another thing I find odd about American children's dietary habits is... little kids don't seem to drink water.

It's either milk, juice or soda.

confuse Am I alone in thinking there's something wrong with this?

You're not alone. My wife is very big on water.
Even on the occasions where she gives her kids Hawaiian Punch, she'll water it down a bit. smile

No, it's natural.

Indeed, it's natural and healthy. Veganism is a mental disorder.

No it's not.

can we agree that for many people, the concept and process of consuming meat is unethical?

if somebody decides that they don't want animals exploited, abused and killed on their behalf, why can't we simply respect that for what it is?

And for some who do eat meat, factory farming is unethical...

I doubt that all the meat advocates here go out and shoot their own. Or are raising grass-fed cattle in their backyards. lol

we've seen what a meat- and dairy-based diet leads to in children: obesity, children with type-2 diabetes, rampant ear infections upper respiratory ailments, to mention only a few symptoms.

raise your children on a meat-based diet, or raise them vegetarian, or raise them vegan - ultimately it's your choice. but be sure that you have all of the information before making your decision.

My kids were raised on lots of milk and meat. They are not fat, never had ear infections, nor respiratory ailments. Of course we don't eat beef all that much. Mostly turkey, fish and chicken with lots of veggies and fruit.

There are ethnicities who do not tolerate animal products as well as others.

Asians and therefore American Indians, do not tolerate milk products well. We certainly do not in our family...

Slave2daGroove

Vegatarian food is the last place people should be concerned with kids. Arresting unfit parents including people who don't make time to teach their kids anything. Kids are a full time job and too many people do not take the time, food is just one aspect. Putting them in front of the television or a video game is easier than making a good person.

"Unethical" give me a break, how about kids with holes in their clothes who rely on welfare to eat? I don't hear anything about ethics when it comes to the welfare system and what the nutritional value of that food is. There's thousands of kids in the US alone on welfare and people are concerned about vegans food choices? WTF!

I'd kill them myself too if I had to. Why is it OK for other animinals to eat eachother, but we're supposed to get all sentimental when a cow or a chicken is slaughtered for consumption?

OK , at least you're no hyprocrite , like so many that eat meat are , i'll give you that

For other animals it's their instinct (ok , maybe for humans too )

Humans have the ability to recognize it's murder and unethical razz
(at least to me and many others)
