Is everyone in your town wearing jackets with fur-trimmed hoods, too? This winter, it's been like Invasion of the Fur-trimmed-hood-wearin' Zombies. Ya know, those sorta parka-lookin' jackets (but shorter); black is the colour of choice. Is everybody wearing those in your town, too? Was there some sort of mass fashion memo?

I should note that I actually think they're cool, but it's just that everybody and their sister/brother is sportin' one this year.

Ex-Moderator | I remember seeing a lot of them a few years ago around here. I think they cycle through every few years or so. |

I have a fur lined hood.
But, In my defense, this is a BIG ol' army issue parka that I've had for 8 years or sumptin. It was actually abandoned at a store I worked at. They were gonna throw it away so I took it. It's the warmest damn thing I've ever owned.

I've seen lots of ladies with them. They make a whole wardrobe out of it
and remember I live in Texas...its hot one day and cold the next I saw someone with the jacket and the furry trimmed boots, and jeans walking like she was on the runway. It wasnt cold at all "Nobody makes me bleed my own blood...NOBODY!"

I don't think real fur is cool at all and it dismays me that the fashion industry is adopting it again.
I go off people pretty quick if I see them wearing fur.

I go off people pretty quick if I see them wearing fur. Sorry, that wasn't aimed at you endorphin ... I was thinking more of JLo who was in the paper yesterday for wearing a fox fur coat (bitch!) ... but I do wonder why you are wearing fur, as I wouldn't have put you down as somebody who could do that

I would NEVER buy fur. Over the years I rationalized that my coat was salvaged from the lost and found and would've just been thrown away. Army parka's are crazy- everything has a function. I learned the function of the fur on the hood is that it stays soft in the lowest of temps- so you have something you can wipe your nose off on it without scratching it all up. And, in the Arcitic tundra of MPLS winter, I have learned that it does in fact come in quite handy. Still, when I finally lay this coat to rest, I won't be replacing it with another furry parka. Ever. ..... [Edited 2/18/05 16:12pm]

Nope.
I live in Tampa. It's hard to get anyone to wear long sleeves, let alone a jacket.

[Edited 2/18/05 16:16pm] just to clarify, Reincarnate wasn't intentionally taking a dig at me above. She loves me and I love her and together we will never buy fur.

so i rarely wear the hood. when I have my hood on and zipped, I look like Kenny. Even unzipped, it's so big that I lose all ability to see without turning my whole body....

Let's just flashback to 1984, 1985, or 1986. That was the thing. I had my black and blue bomber jacket and so did everyone else. Since everyone is trying to revitalize original hip hop it looks like the clothes are coming with them. I am quite sick of the bomber jackets around here myself! LA is not the place for cold weather. Maybe back east but not here! Let's see, the Kango, air brushed clothing, Addidas, sweat suits, instead of the big trunk jewelry it's the platinum bling bling. We have the braided hairdos and once we go back to the acne causing basket weaves, we should be done with this era. God willing!!
