please, chris don't talk about black and white half as much or 1/3 as much as Paul Mooney does, so i guess you would hate him. but chris did a good job on the oscars, at least it wasn't half as boring as usual....although he did get sean penn's sensitive, half drunk ass back for his "sensitive" comment...it really wasn't that serious... I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

The Bush jokes were pretty tame! But then again, coming from someone who thinks he's done no wrong, of course you can't handle it? I don't think he did a great job like he's done at the VMAs but it was OK. Then again, it seemed like he wasn't there very long. They could have and should have used him more rather than those those tired "These are the Movies..."bumpers. But don't get rid of the people who died. Call me morbid, but that's one of my favorite parts of the show, just to give those that pased on their do. [Edited 3/1/05 11:21am]

it seems most black comics use the black/white thing.....but then again, there is so much material there....i mean Rock had a point when he was talking about the title of some black films like "Carwash" and "Soul-Plane" and "Barbershop"....it thought he was a little out of place at the Oscars but he brought attention to the fact that the event is mostly a rich, white affair.....and good for him!! did anyone notice when Sidney Lumet was giving his speech and mentioning all the great directors, the camera focused in on Spike Lee for some reason, whose name was not mentioned by Lumet

My favorite line was, "This is like the Def Jam Academy Awards because four black people were nominated..." That had me cracking up! When Jamie Foxx won I was screaming and then I heard all this noise and went outside and my neighbors were screaming for Jamie Foxx just like me. My neighborhood is a mixed lot and that was so cool to me! If it weren't for Chris Rock, Prince and Jamie, I wouldn't have been watching that mess! I thought Chris was very funny. He was kind of tame but still good. I loved when Selma Hayek and Penelope Cruz came out. Chris told them audience to welcome the 4 of them. That had me rolling. Also, the part about the nominees being tested for steroids and everyone passed.
It's kind of funny how Chris introduced Jeromy Irons as one of the top comedians. After Jeromy was introduced there was a very loud bang (something from the set probably fell) and he said "I hope they missed." That was funny and spontaneous. Maybe Chris was right? I didn't catch Chris callig him a comedian (or "Welcome of the four of them....I should have listened closer!) but the line from Irons was pretty good. [Edited 3/1/05 14:01pm]
