I havent smoked since 01-28 After 15 years of almost non-stop smoking, I have finally quit. Ive been taking zyban/wellbutrin. Not only did I quit before my "official" quit date, but I did it without nicotine replacement, and almost no cravings. Drugs are amazing. Has anyone else quit recently ??

Girlygirl, when I saw this thread I thought it can't be true..... .....You've "haven't smoked since Jan. 1928!". (U.K. date reading ) It's funny you should mention this coz I last had a smoke around mid Dec. '04 and thought I was doing really well..... until last night, when I brought a pack of 10 They tasted shit! :pkue: but I still had to have three on the trot Nicotine, EVIL! Anyhow, well done to you and your commitment "..My work is personal, I'm a working person, I put in work, I work with purpose.."

Anyhow, well done to you and your commitment Thanx...but really it took very little commitment, which is what is shocking the hell out of me. Initially I was co-signing w/ my-at-work smoking buddy. Her father has been battling throat cancer,so she really wanted to quit.. Me...not so much I didnt believe the claims that some had made for the zyban, but it really worked. I was off of cigs within six days !!! Just a thought for anyone who might want to quit. Although some of the side effect are annoying (itching and swelling of the fingers, verrry vivid dreams for a few days). The best side effect...a dramatic increase in libido

Congratulations! I quit 2 1/2 years ago after 24 years of smoking. I'm so glad I kicked that nasty habit. Not only can it kill you, but it can kill your bank account too. When I quit a pack was $7.50. I believe they are over $8.00 now (canadian).
Hang in there. You won't regret it! And, you won't stink anymore either. I used to think people were full of shit when they would complain about how smokers smelled so bad, but it's true!

I'm trying to get my mom to give zyban a try, Really good news it worked for you are you feeling the benefits yet? You know, I really can't tell. The zyban is a stimulant anti-depressant, so I am extremely giddy and happy right now ....this is not a bad thing. Not to mention more energetic due to the stimulant effect. If you convince your mom, encourage her to keep taking it even if she has some annoying but not dangerous side effects (the itching and swelling of my hands and fingers drove me mad for about a day and a half). I think me and my friend at work are the happiest people walking around right now

Increased energy + increased libido = Very happy boyfriend and pissed neighbors. Your right, wait until you leave, it'll save you the cost of therapy.
