I Hate Phone Interviews!!!!!!!!!! I just had a phone interview, and I think I just totally fucked it up. What makes it worse is that I tend to stutter, especially on the phone, and wouldn't you know, that happened to me today. I have learned to tell the person on the other end of the phone, "Excuse me, I tend to stutter, and you'll have to bear with me." I can't help but wonder what the person on the other end of the phone thinks, they must think I'm a stupid asshole. What made it worse if that the interviewer on the phone asked me if she could record it, so it could be "analyzed". WTF, is that even legal?? I asked her, "What do you mean by analyzed? Does that mean some psychologists are going to listen to it and to say what they think?" The woman said no, that they have a "research person" who will be doing that.
To be honest, phone interviews (to me) are impersonal as anything. I can understand why companies do it, to "weed out" the unwanted people who do not meet the job requirements. I would rather do a face to face interview, because I just tense up on the phone, and it makes it that much worse for me. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Hey, Psychodelicide
How are ya? Phone interviews can be nerve wracking> I'd much rather do a face-to-face interview, too. You can't see a person's facial expressions or theri body language, which tell you a lot. Don't worry about it too much, sweetie.

I'm sure you did just fine

don't feel bad - i'm sure you did better than you realize!
it does seem odd that they would record a phone interview, unless the job is heavily phone-related, like telemarketing or something along those lines. i can't stand that mass-processing type of interviewing - it's so much better to have a face-to-face interview, for all parties involved. best of luck, Psy - i just know a great job will come your way soon!

Dont worry about it!! I bet you did a good job. Its never as bad as u think it is
In college,I applied online to Kinkos and they called me several weeks later. I forgot I applied. It was 8 in the morning and I was still in bed. It was small talk at first, then she asked me "Why do u want to work at Kinkos?" I froze!! I didnt really want to work at Kinkos,I was a freakin student,I needed money So I just hung up on her and went back to sleep (she didnt call me back either...what if I "accidentally" hung up ) I ended up working at Victoria's Secret a special hug edit [Edited 2/16/05 12:55pm] "Nobody makes me bleed my own blood...NOBODY!"
