A good friend of my father, one of the most famous comic artists in Israel, Dudu Geva died today at the age of 54, from a heart attack.
He was a good friend of my dad when he lived in Jerusalem. they both grew up together, then worked for the (back then) only TV station we had, then started his comic books.
We haven't seen him for about 20 years, since he moved to another city. I remember having a poster hung in my room of one of his most famous series "Zoo Eretz Zoo".
In an interview about 2 weeks ago he said he's amazed to be alive to this day, with the way he's been living. Smoking, not eating healthy and living in a very unhealthy way in general. He said it's a miracle he's still alive. I think somebody heard him up there.
His most famous comic character was a duck. At some point Disney sued him because they thought he shouldn't be using a duck since they already had one. Even though he doesn't look anything like Donald.

It's amazing how they can disappear from this world in a few moments in time.
