Good choices. I've never seen that cover for "Galaxy Quest". Very underestimated movie that was unfonunately released on Tim Allen's downslide. By far his best. What do people in Europe think of him and his movies. I've never liked him but that movie changed my opinion of him slightly. In America, he was huge for the longest time. That new movie Chirstmas movie might have helped being him back to the boring family pick audience again.

Tim Allen and his movies are/were not that big in Europe. people will recognize his name and face mainly for the Tool Time sitcom I suppose

Was "Home IMprovement" (most people do refer to it as "Tool Time", including me) that popular over there. Seems like a very American show.

I'm not sure if there has been any threads or not...but I agree with you, it's one powerful and rather haunting documentary.. nod

OMG that movie was great!!!!!

One of the craziest documentaries ever. I loved it!!

To answer this thread. I recently bought a documentary on JIMMY SCOTT. When I saw it Fry's Electronics I thought I was going to pee my pants. I love JIMMY. For those of you who don't know about him he's a jazz singer. I watched the documentary and cried from frame 1. I don't know, this is the only artist that has that effect on me. His voice, his life, oh what a man.

The amazing: 'Billabong Odyssey'. Absolutely AWE-INSPIRING stuff....in the truest sense of the term. The Billabong Odyssey is a tow-surfing movie in which the top extreme surfers hunt and ride the biggest waves in the world, in a search to find and ride the mythical 100 foot wave.

(Andy - u would love this...)

You may not be into the whole surfing schtick, but I guarantee you...if the opening shot doesn't leave you slack-jawed, or laughing aloud because of the absolute sheer ridiclousness of it... then you're dead.

A very small taster of it can be found near the end of the trailer when the guy says:
"Someone's gonna ride a 100ft wave....but 100ft's just a number"

Click the poster for more info, and a trailer that will make u go:
omg

The alternative UK trailer may be found here: www.billabongodysseyuk.com

I want this so bad...I always forget about buying it for some reason. Thanks for reminding me...I am headed over to Amazon now.

BTW, I recently bought:

Fandango w/ Kevin Costner and Judd Nelson...a lost classic from the 80s.

Collateral

The Shining Miniseries (already own Kubrick's)...I like this one mainly because it follows the book almost exactly and I LOVE the book.

& last but not least...

WEIRD SCIENCE!!!!...This flick is so friggin hilarious...hard to believe but I think this is my favorite John Hughes movie. Chet rocks and I still dream about Kelly LeBrock.

Get it. The commentaries are great. I also like the outtakes, although it does not include the set that Booker T and the MGs did before Otis took the stage. sad
