I was in a smoothie shop trying to hand in an application, and there were 5 people in line ahead of me. I waited about 10 minutes until there were 3 people ahead of me. It would have taken probably fifteen minutes for them to all get their orders, and since I was in a hurry and I was only handing in an application which would have taken up none of the cachier's time, I just cut in line and laid my application on the counter when the cashier's back was turned making another order and I turned to walk away. As I was leaving, every person in line gave me a dirty look.
Did I do the wrong thing? I would think it wouldn't matter since it's not like the cashier would have had to do anything with the application at that moment...?

Well I guess it doesn't matter because they just called me for an interview anyway

In an ideal world, there would be time limits at fast food restaurants. You have 30 seconds to recite your order, otherwise a trap door opens in the floor, and you're dropped into a conveyor belt that transports you to the back of the line.

Also, they should put the menu on the front door, not at the counter. So you have to make up your mind and figure out what the hell you want in advance, and collect your thoughts.

You weren't out of line, some people are just slow. Life is short, why waste it standing behind slow people?

I've actually run into that problem when handing in job applications. It's annoying, but I always wait in line. I don't want my potential employer to see customers being annoyed with me before I'm even hired. Plenty of time for that later.

I would have done da same thing really!! It makez sense, and im sure da other people in da line would not have been given ya a dirty face if they had to stop and think about what they'd feel inclined to do if they just wanted to hand in something in oppose to spending ages consulting with da woman at da desk!!

So let us know if and when you get the job and when does is the busiest time of day for you so we can make sure we come there (the orgers near you of course) bug you and make you become all cluster fucked...
