Best Picture: Sideways
Best Director: Martin Scorsese
Best Actor: Jaime Foxx
Best Actress: Catalina Sandino Moreno
Best Supporting Actor: Clive Owen

I still have to see a few of them, but right now I think Million Dollar Baby will get best film, Scorsese will get director and Jaime Foxx will get actor. As for who I want to win: I want Finding Neverland to win film, Jamie Foxx to get best actor and Hilary Swank for best actress. Not sure on the rest yet. hmmm

I liked "Maria Full Of Grace" but she has no chance unless everyone assumes that everybody already voted for Swank and Bennging, so they'll take a chance. I'm sorry but other than the screenplays and lead actors, you're way off.

SOS, Bening doesn't have a chance! I don't see it happening. Swank is the uber favorite and they always win. I know what you're basing this one (Swank is just to young and unknown to have two so fast) but I seriously don't think a lot of people don't even know her well enough to know that's she won before! This will almost be her first! I think after this one, she has a shot at a decent movie career (prepare for at least one romantic comedy with her...I smell "One Of the Guys 2"!). And I think after losing to the girl that plays the "dyke roles" again , I think Bening as a shot at becoming "The homeless woman who used to be an actress and was married to Warren Beatty" because she'll be on drugs after another lose!

And as for your arguement about "Million Dollar Baby" being far from perfect, since when do great movies win for best picture..."Titanic" and "The English Patient" anyone?

Just saw "Ray" yesterday - excellent film and Jamie Foxx was amazing and I would vote for him to get the Oscar - but as I haven't seen the other films, that's maybe a little unfair...but what the h3%$#@! I thought he was great...Jamie rules!!!

true..but Aviator is a lot closer to perfect then Million Dollar Baby.....*and* it won the Producers Guild Award.....and Million Dollar Baby *didnt* win the SAG for cast which tells me the film lost a lil steam.....im not sure what to think of Eastwood's win at the DGA....its leading up to a fascinating Oscar night...too bad nobody really seems to care this year..the films just arent all that exciting...No Pulp Fiction..No Crying Game.....Nothing really to root for..and no monster hold no prisoners ala Schindler's List or Titanic to sweap the beast..... i bet this will be one of the lowest rated shows ever...expecially with Chris Rock hosting...theres a certain part of this country that seems not to watch when a black person hosts....(lets see if my theory holds or if it was just people hating Whoopie.. wink )

hmmm

I'm still working on seeing the films, but so far...

What I want:
Picture- Finding Neverland
Actor- Jamie Foxx (Ray)
Actress- Kate Winslett (sunshine)
Director- ? I think Eternal Sunshine should've been in this category...
Supporting Actor- Clive Owen (Closer)
Supporting Actress- Laura Linney (Kinsey)

What I think WILL win:
Picture- The Aviator
Actor- Jamie Foxx
Actress- Hillary Swank
Director- Clint Eastwood
Supporting Actor- Morgan Freeman
Supporting Actress- Cate Blanchett

I have no real desire to see the Aviator, but I just have to do it so I don't get upset if it walks away with most of the major awards...

I'm going to have to get back on this. I haven't seen half of the movies. I did see Ray and thought Jamie should get the Oscar but then again I have nothing to compare it with. The next movie I'm going to see is SIDEWAYS although the previews suck.

Oh by the way hasn't Million Dollar Baby been made already. GIRLFIGHT.

I've already played the "what will win" game to death, so I'm going to say who I think should win.

Picture: Million Dollar Baby - not only the best film this year, the best film in a long while
Actor: Don Cheadle - Hotel Rwanda
Actress: Hilary Swank - Million Dollar Baby
Supporting Actor: Morgan Freeman - Million Dollar Baby
Supporting Actress: Cate Blanchett - The Aviator
Director: Clint Eastwood - Million Dollar Baby
Adapted Screenplay: Paul Haggis - Million Dollar Baby
Original Screenplay: Charlie Kaufman - Eternal Sunshine...
Original Score: These are terrible nonimations. I cannot choose one piece of dung over the other. Same goes for original song
Cinematography: Caleb Deschanel - The Passion of the Christ
Costumes: Colleen Atwood - Lemony Snickets... (bad movie, great costuming)
Art Direction: Dante Ferretti, Francesca LoSchiavo - The Aviator

bening vs. swank? i gotta see Being Julia to know (but the freaken movie is only playing in LA and NY)....but I just wasnt that impressed by Swank. I liked her character..I thought she did a good job. But Oscar? And to take her to that two timer club? Not with that performance....I just see it happening....And maybe my view is tainted cause I have issue with Million Dollar Baby...
