Im workin on rational expressions and applications. Gotta test on Monday and got one important question that could make a big difference and don't know who else to ask. I heard Prince fans are geniuses.

BTW, ***(^2) means to the second power of a number/letter in front of it.

Okay, how do this: 6a^2+7a-3 become this: (3a-1)(2a+3) ???

well, if u work the problem backwards and start with (3a-1)(2a+3), then u can tell how it got 2 b 6a^2+7a-3
1st, u have 2 foil (3a-1)(2a+3) (foil=first outside inside last) so u get
6a^2+9a-2a-3 then u combine the like terms and end up with 6a^2+7a-3 (cause of the 9a-2a=7a)
2 work it the other way, i think u have 2 look at the 1st and last terms of the equation (ie 6a^2 and -3) and find a set a numbers that when multiplied, the product will equal those 2 numbers and then set up an equation in the (3a-1)(2a+3) format

Those kinda problems make more sense to me now. I took my test today - I probably fucked up pretty bad on it though cause they had other kinda problems on it too.
