East of Eden Finally Coming to DVD This is one of my favorite films, so I'm glad to see it finally released on DVD, as a 2-disc SE no less. Warner is also reissuing Rebel Without a Cause as a SE along with the already released 2-disc version of Giant. I'm also happy to see that Warner is taking the initiative - along with their releases of the gangster classics - to release these with their original artwork. Here's the story from DVD Answers :
Title: East of Eden Starring: James Dean Released: 31st May 2005 SRP: $26.99 Further Details Warner has announced a two-disc special edition of East of Eden which stars Julie Harris, James Dean, Raymond Massey and Burl Ives. The set will be available to own from the 31st May this year, and should set you back around $26.99. The film itself will be presented in 2.55:1 anamorphic widescreen along with both English Dolby Digital 5.1 and French 2.0 Stereo Surround tracks. English, French and Spanish subtitles will also be provided. I'm afraid we have no details on the extra material for this one yet, but we'll let you know just as soon as we hear anything. For now though, here's our first look at the official artwork: Title: Rebel Without a Cause Starring: James Dean Released: 31st May 2005 SRP: $26.99 Further Details Warner has also announced a two-disc special edition of Rebel Without a Cause which stars James Dean, Natalie Wood, Sal Mineo and Jim Backus.
