Do what you have to in order to re-establish contact, NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOUR MIND TELLS YOU NOT TO...and get that friendship going again! We can't pick our family, but we DO pick our friends..and we have picked them for some specific reason that has touched each and every one of us for some reason or another....so go!!
This is my Challenge to the Org! Question: Did you estrange yourself from a friend you were dear to? Is that why you started this forum? I read these forums and I often wonder what reason they had for starting that particular subject. This must be of significant importance in your world. So...what did you do to get that friendship going again? Any tips for the ones you just ordered to do the same? Well I created this thread because I was just looking at my High School reunion pictures and seen my best friend from 7th grade on up. We parted ways when he became SUPER religious and I couldn't take the rhetoric he espoused every time you were in his presence. He became very critical of those that were not on his path to whatever so our friendship strayed. He even called me the Devil because I don't get down with religions to his 12 year old son when I invited the youngsters of the family to a sleepover at my house during the Xmas holidays. What kind of mind does that to a child??? We would see each other from time to time after that, but it was never the same. So now, seven years later I had to step up and let him know where my thoughts were completely on Religion and God and just laid it all out. We now are fine, but still not as close, but at least we do contact each other when we are home or in each others hometown now. We went to dinner last he was in Los Angeles, and get together every time he visits the westcoast. I am relieved to have him back as a friend again!! This is what ignited this thread for you all. What Teacher and Naked said.....Sometimes there is a reason to cut the ties to a friendship...And if it comes down to if this person is healthy to your own mental well being to let them back in then ummmmm no. | |
