i've been wanting to share this news for a while, but i didn't want to jinx the good fortune that i'd experienced lately....i pitched an idea for an interview with a songwriter to a magazine i like a whole lot, and the editors liked the idea and said yes! and i interview the songwriter tomorrow!

sorry i can't be more specific yet, but as soon as i get the draft turned in and the magazine okays my story, i can be more open about who i'm writing about, where it'll be published, and when everyone can get their mitts on a copy if they wanna see it. i can say that it's a national publication, and that if it all works out okay, it's gonna look great in my writing clips...and hopefully, i'll get to write for them again.

i'm a little nervous about the interview because it's gonna be over the phone, and i'm always a little worried about making sure i quote them correctly. i've done phone interviews in the past and they've always come out just fine, but i'm always concerned about representing the people i interview accurately...other than that, i'm very excited, and can't wait to get back into the swing of things!

other than a couple of little stories i've done for local chicago publications over the past couple of years, this is the first article i've written in quite a long time. sooo, if i'm not around a whole lot over the next few weeks, you'll know why. wish me luck!
