What do men want for Valentine's Day?

Besides pussy and lots of it...that's obvious.

Do I get a box of kink...or a nice gift?

when i was still with my husband, i got a beautiful basket (which was really for me of course giggle ) and filled it with tons of treats from the sex shop lol he loved it !! but, i felt kinda bad about doing just that, since, its kinda, i dont know, weird i guess... so, i also sent him flowers at his job touched i think men like getting flowers, dont they ?? confuse

then, when he came home, i had started a trail at the front door with those little conversation hearts, he had to follow the clues to get to me and his present smile all the while the hearts were saying things like... youre my soulmate... my man... youre the one, you get the idea shrug

finished off the night with a great dinner, candles, and crazy sex woot!

for me of course, he didnt do much at all.. if anything that i remember confuse maybe that has something to do with why we arent together ?

I was gonna get him this crazy book with pretty much all the tattoos in the world but he already has it. Along with every other tattoo book and Sailor Jerry book. He pretty much has everything he wants. Except for those green suede Adidas sneakers he was talking about hmm

Amen. I participate in Valentine's Day and Sweetest Day out of obligation, but geezum crow...I don't need a special day to tell someone how much they mean to me. Every day, I try to make sure that they know how much I love them.

I also hate Valentine's Day because of the pain it causes lonely people. I remember all too well in school, never getting ONE measly Valentine card. Or going to the Sweetheart Dance and seeing all the popular kids with their dates...and me, standing on the sidelines with my thumbs in my pockets, trying desperately not to look...well, desperate.

touched my memory is a lot like that sad but, its mixed with the feelings i have of being my age now and STILL not having someone to spend it with.

see, i thought this would be a fun way to try and get around all those feelings of sadness....

it wont work though pout everyone i know is still having this awesome, special day with their honey... and im here.... well.. ummm... not cry

Don't be so sure that everyone that has a honey is having these Hallmark Moments with them just because it's Valentines Day. My hubby is much along the lines of Dexy's way of thinking. I'll be shocked through if he sends me flowers or anything. He doesn't do that normally and probably won't just because it's Feb 14th. We show our love everyday. I love Valentines Day and I do wish that he'd do "Valentines Day" kinda stuff, but that's not his style and that's okay.

I gotta comment on this perspective...while I respect it (and understand the feelings behind it), isn't it a bit contradictory to say "I try to make sure everyday that they know how much I love them....unless it's a day created specifically for that purpose"??..lol smile If the other 364 days of the year you are wanting to show how much you love someone simply because you love them, then showing this same person how much you love them on Valentine's Day should not be seen as "obligation"...it's doing the same thing you do on every other day, expressing love.

I also think a lot of it depends on how you show it...like you, I don't wait until Valentine's Day (or their birthday, or Xmas) to show and express love in a variety of ways...so when V-Day does show up, I'm no different, other than perhaps finding a more intimate, personal and expressive way of conveying the feelings I have. Too many people think V-Day should be about buying gifts, when there are so many other ways of celebrating your love for someone. ( I personally love buying gifts, but when I do, I try to make them a unique expression)... Go out to dinner (their favorite restaurant)...let them pick the movie for a change..lol thumbs up!...drive out to the beach at sunset (if you live near water, that is)...show up at work unannounced and take them out to lunch...give them an hour-long body massage...and on and on. All of these things are things we do (or should do) throughout the year anyway...but we don't do it everyday. Doing so on Valentine's Day to me is simply my way of saying "Ok, today I'm making sure I do something"...it won't be the first time, or the last time I do...but I'll make sure the day doesn't pass without me finding a way to express what I feel on an even more intense level.

Then again, I may be one of the few people who never feels lonely on V-Day if my heart is not involved with someone when it occurs...

I think I am getting my boyfriend a book of Bukowski poems called "Love is a Dog from Hell." He is a fan of Bukowski's prose, and I thought the title ironic for the day. I might also make him a voodoo doll because he's getting very frustrated at work and at co-workers. Kind of like a joke. Which is kind of what Valentine's Day is.
