Why did this get blasted so much when it came out? I thought it was pretty good.

Spike is one of my personal heroes -- and I literally drove hours to see this movie because of it's very limited release.

But it SUCKED BIG TIME!

Not only was it a horrid depiction of the LGBT community as made up of psychologically fractured, wildly self-involved people, but it was a crippled attempt to elicit sympathy for generally dysfunctional lifestyles that people already mistakenly, dangerously equate with LGBTs and African Americans.

Moreover, as cinema goes, its character development was flat as a pancake, it was overacted, its plot (which was admittedly supposed to be farce) was so over-the-top it became laughable (and not in a good way), its indictment of corporate America was grossly cliched, and even the music sucked (a first for a Spike Lee joint)! I could go on and on, but why?

The only things that worked for me in this flick were 1)seeing Joi again; and 2)the poor, little German dude at the beginning. He was great. But even his moment was ruined by a way melodramatic hook.

This is definitely Spike's worst.

It looks pretty terrible but I'll give it a shot later. I tend to like (but not love) Spike's movies, even though I've only seen handful and my favorite is the very little known "Girl 6" (well, maybe it's known here because of the soundtrack).

I really wanna see it being a Spike Lee fam.

I didnt see it in the theater cuz I was 2 busy seeing other stuff, but i wanted 2 wait till it was out. Im glad it is now I can rent it. Loves mes sums Spike
