What really is love?

We throw this word around a lot, especially with a holiday coming up designed for greeting cards, flowers, and chocolates.

"I love this album", "I love this meal", but how many times can you really say it to someone special in your life and have those words mean everything?

Whether you're with someone or not this Valentine's Day, to me at least it means that if we have to be reminded to do something one day, we could do better.

If you have somebody special in your life why not make everyday at least your own version?

If you have friends you care about-let 'em know, regardless of what day.

There's always room for improvements when it comes to showing somebody you think is very special that you care.

Even if it's a hug, or whatever-just remember that anything can happen, good or bad in life and with the right friends (Orgers and otherwise of course), and maybe more it all makes a little more sense.

Alright, I'll go back to posting smartass comments now, just needed that "A Very Special Episode" moment.

Hope everybody's doing well.

I never seem to find a partner that feels love the way that I do cry

I am however very good at showing my family and friends that I love them all the time. I never wait for "that day" to express myself.

To all my org friends....I LOVE YOU!!! hug kiss2 grouphug

Case

Here's some Caseisms on love...

Love is accepting the fact that your partner is not always going to be beautiful.

Love is being secure with the fact that no two people are 100% compatible.

Love is keeping your mouth shut and ears open when your mate is going through a tough time.

Love is not hurling a personal insult at your mate when you're pissed (I never said love was easy).

Love is not hitting on any of your partner's cute friends.

Love is living with the fact that one of you will snore.

Love IS having to say your sorry. And saying it often (and fuck Erich Segal for saying otherwise).

Realizing this going into any relationship will help you to be much happier than you'd be looking for the "perfect" person. That person does not exist. The best thing to do is to realize that love should be natural and not something you have to force but that sometimes it takes compromise and work. Reaching common ground with a person you love is wonderful.

See I don't celebrate V-Day. Never really have. I mean it's nice to get flowers and stuff. But I'd rather do it on an off day...not because you are reminded to do so.

And what is love? Like when you love your wife or husband? Simple... Love is...when you decide that this is the person you want to spend your life with and take care of when they are old. Not caring that they go gray or bald. You'd still care for them should they become handicapped. That you'd throw yourself in front of a train to save them. You don't fall into it...you choose it. Or it chooses you.

I never say "I love you" to my family or friends.....they know I "love" them, though not in that way.

Plus I never say it to my girl either. One of my ex's needed me to tell it to her all the time.....In times of need maybe it is nice to say it to a "loved" one but I do not need reminding that my family, girlfriend or whomever loves me as I know that already, and vice versa.....

IMO, this displays a certain kind of weakness. I don't think you should always have to tell someone you love them but people, usually men, with this type of mentality never say it. And often they tend not to show it either. Not questioning your ability to love, just sayin this is my experience.

yeah i got issues, we all do. BUT I do infact take Prince's view in the lyrics to "the holy river"

"the more they say they love u, the more u just wanna die"

If my Mum tell me "i love you", then I think maybe she thinks something is wrong with me, u know what I mean.....sympathetic sorta thing!

"i love u" is great to say to start off a relationship with a partner, but to keep saying it loses it's value and why bother reminding? It seems inscure infact to be reminded, no offence biggrin

I say it practically everyday to my partner. It's not a need nor a strain. I love it the best is when I go to sleep after him and even in the thick of sleep. I'll say goodnight and I love you and he always manages to say it back...it's like a secret whisper.

WHy do you consider it a reminder? Like it's a chore. Like they KNOW already. It's not like reminding them your name or anything...but it's an expression of how you feel about them. I think it's LESS insecure if you can say it and not have it strained but have it come out genuinely. And not worry about what the other thinks.
