To me this is the true sence of love..... Love is patient and kind; love is not jealous or boastful; it is not arrogant or rude. Love does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrong, but rejoices in the right. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.

IMO, this displays a certain kind of weakness. I don't think you should always have to tell someone you love them but people, usually men, with this type of mentality never say it. And often they tend not to show it either. Not questioning your ability to love, just sayin this is my experience.

I say it practically everyday to my partner. It's not a need nor a strain. I love it the best is when I go to sleep after him and even in the thick of sleep. I'll say goodnight and I love you and he always manages to say it back...it's like a secret whisper.

I never seem to find a partner that feels love the way that I do cry

I am however very good at showing my family and friends that I love them all the time. I never wait for "that day" to express myself.

To all my org friends....I LOVE YOU!!! hug kiss2 grouphug

sad one day you'll find someone who deserves you, Supa, and they should consider themselves very very lucky nod hug

I don't wait for "that day" either to express my appreciation and love for friends and family...If I tell someone I love them it's for real, I don't say it lightly but I DO say it a lot because I always want them to know how much they mean to me. I've been through too much (as a lot of us have) to take anyone for granted ever again...

Love IS having to say your sorry. And saying it often (and fuck Erich Segal for saying otherwise).

worship I couldn't agree more!! In fact, I'm always saying this.

And nice post, subby!

As for me, I think love comes in many flavors. I love my mom, I love my friends, I love my kitty, heck! I'd even say I love some of you people. But all in different ways. There are people whom I tell I love them all the time and others not quite as frequently. I don't think it changes the power of the statement as long as I know I'm always sincere when I say it. And I always am.

sorry, these are the actual words....

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 (NIV) Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

yeah i got issues, we all do. BUT I do infact take Prince's view in the lyrics to "the holy river"

"the more they say they love u, the more u just wanna die"

If my Mum tell me "i love you", then I think maybe she thinks something is wrong with me, u know what I mean.....sympathetic sorta thing!

"i love u" is great to say to start off a relationship with a partner, but to keep saying it loses it's value and why bother reminding? It seems inscure infact to be reminded, no offence biggrin

confused

Maybe it's b/c I lost somebody & I'm not sure I ever told him I loved him. By the time I said it, I don't know that it was heard. Since then I tell everyone in my immediate family that I love them everytime we speak. It never gets "weakened", I feel good reminding them of something powerful & positive.

I don't say it much in relationships but I'm certainly not afraid to. Time is too short to be weird about it. If you feel it, how can saying it be wrong? It's like any other truth in my book...

OOOH...the worst one was when I was dating "Chuck" and he tried saying it 2ce, but it came out all half assed and mumbled. I felt worse after that than if he hadn't said anything.

I hate Valentine's Day. And not just because I've been single many a Valentine's Day, but because it's so commercialized - and yeah, the "love" word gets thrown around way too much. It's the most abused word in the world. As V-day approaches, I am feeling greater anxiety. My boyfriend of 6 months and I have not yet uttered the L word...it holds too much weight for me to say it yet, and he got completely screwed over by his last girlfriend so he is very cautious about saying it. But there is all this goddamn pressure to make V-day this perfect lovefest, and it makes me feel like if I don't hear the word "love" on the 14th, something is wrong. What the fuck. Anyway, to answer your question, I'm only 21. I have been in love, but hell if I know what it is. I just know that there is a huge difference between being in love, and loving someone. I don't know if any of that made sense, I just had to get it off my chest. kiss

We throw this word around a lot, especially with a holiday coming up designed for greeting cards, flowers, and chocolates.

"I love this album", "I love this meal", but how many times can you really say it to someone special in your life and have those words mean everything?

Whether you're with someone or not this Valentine's Day, to me at least it means that if we have to be reminded to do something one day, we could do better.

If you have somebody special in your life why not make everyday at least your own version?

If you have friends you care about-let 'em know, regardless of what day.

There's always room for improvements when it comes to showing somebody you think is very special that you care.

Even if it's a hug, or whatever-just remember that anything can happen, good or bad in life and with the right friends (Orgers and otherwise of course), and maybe more it all makes a little more sense.

Alright, I'll go back to posting smartass comments now, just needed that "A Very Special Episode" moment.

Hope everybody's doing well.

biggrin
