when I was scared about my hub, (the story nakedpp shared) aside from a couple of friends, I came here for support. Its not weird, or silly, just another way for people who care about you to come together and give strength to prayer and positive thoughts.

Prayers for you and your mom, and the rest of your family..as many as you want, as long as you want.

My mom had a scare a couple of years ago and I"m sure your Mom will be okay as well

I sure wish your mom a speedy recovery.

Since a few have asked, here's my update.
My mom has ovarian cancer. The doctor believes it's in a very early stage. Her ovaries were removed and it's possible that's all we'll need. They did a bazillion biopsies and when we get those results back in a few days we'll know if she needs to go through chemo or not.
She's in good spirits, probably due to the morphine and my family's doing ok with it. I'm taking a break from the hospital but I'm going back tonight to be with her.

Thanks all. It's been a tough day for many reasons.
I've had to do a lot of thinking about my family and how I deal with things and who I want to be to them and that kind of thing. My mom and I are very close but I have a somewhat strained relationship with my father and brother and spending so much time with them during hours of waiting and stress was a bit unnerving.
Thankfully, I have wonderful friends who are making sure I'm taken care of too.
