I would say smooth things over by saying something like: "Sorry...I didn't mean to offend you earlier...I hope things are ok." And be diplomatic and civil to her at work...but, limit your time spent with her outside of work.
You didn't do anything wrong, but sometimes you have to play the game to keep things sane for yourself.

This tends to work best, and if that doesn't help beat the bitch with a heavy teabag.

lol I was going to say something like give her a box of tea she hates and put a bow on it and drop it on her desk. Or sprinkle tea leaves on her chair or something. Or just get her a mug with "I'm the bitch" on the side of it.

The boss just had a "talk" with me. Basically she said I should be the one to make amends because Shirley is so sensitive and didn't mean to bark at me. She also said that Shirl treats me as if I'm her child and it's "just her way". Fucking bogus and lame. I'm not her child! I'm a co-worker, it's much different!

So boss has totally put me on the spot and I'm not doing it. I told her it's a 2 way street, I did nothing and that Shirl really needs to relax and she's been a miserable bitch for 4 months. I also told her she needs to separate things that happen at home and things that happen at work. Not sure if I shoulda said all that but I did!!!

I have tomorrow off for the Pat's parade... my mind is done with this bs!

thanks for all the replies though! hug for everyone~!

She's been uber sensitive the past 4 months and jumps down my throat whenever she doesn't agree with me. Today she wanted to argue about tea neutral, yes, I said TEA... and I wasn't having it. I made the "reoww" cat fight noise and told her to settle down. Now she's "hurt" and went running to the boss.

So what do I do. Do I just snub her and eat breakfast and lunch somewhere else so I don't have to deal with it, or do we go head on for the full out arguement? Thing is...she's very good friends with the boss outside of work...

When the boss comes to tell you off make a 'purring' noise.

mad OOOHH I hate that. You are not the issue, but are told that YOU need to bend. That's a big box of LAME-O'S! I'm sorry, but that ticks me off! "just her way"...She's the Problem..NOT YOU!

Glad you said something. Know what be the bitch and eat your breakfast and lunch elsewhere. Can't complain if you are not there, right?

So it's solved. She came in my office and apologized. Took full fault for it all and said she needs to shut up most of the time. I'm sooo glad I stuck to my guns....
