I'm firmly planted in denial

Ex-Moderator | I still have to see a few of them, but right now I think Million Dollar Baby will get best film, Scorsese will get director and Jaime Foxx will get actor. As for who I want to win: I want Finding Neverland to win film, Jamie Foxx to get best actor and Hilary Swank for best actress. Not sure on the rest yet. |

SOS, Bening doesn't have a chance! I don't see it happening. Swank is the uber favorite and they always win. I know what you're basing this one (Swank is just to young and unknown to have two so fast) but I seriously don't think a lot of people don't even know her well enough to know that's she won before! This will almost be her first! I think after this one, she has a shot at a decent movie career (prepare for at least one romantic comedy with her...I smell "One Of the Guys 2"!). And I think after losing to the girl that plays the "dyke roles" again , I think Bening as a shot at becoming "The homeless woman who used to be an actress and was married to Warren Beatty" because she'll be on drugs after another lose! And as for your arguement about "Million Dollar Baby" being far from perfect, since when do great movies win for best picture..."Titanic" and "The English Patient" anyone? [Edited 2/6/05 18:08pm]

Just saw "Ray" yesterday - excellent film and Jamie Foxx was amazing and I would vote for him to get the Oscar - but as I haven't seen the other films, that's maybe a little unfair...but what the h3%$#@! I thought he was great...Jamie rules!!! Call her green and the winter cannot fade her

I'm still working on seeing the films, but so far... What I want: Picture- Finding Neverland Actor- Jamie Foxx (Ray) Actress- Kate Winslett (sunshine) Director- ? I think Eternal Sunshine should've been in this category... Supporting Actor- Clive Owen (Closer) Supporting Actress- Laura Linney (Kinsey) What I think WILL win: Picture- The Aviator Actor- Jamie Foxx Actress- Hillary Swank Director- Clint Eastwood Supporting Actor- Morgan Freeman Supporting Actress- Cate Blanchett I have no real desire to see the Aviator, but I just have to do it so I don't get upset if it walks away with most of the major awards...

I'm going to have to get back on this. I haven't seen half of the movies. I did see Ray and thought Jamie should get the Oscar but then again I have nothing to compare it with. The next movie I'm going to see is SIDEWAYS although the previews suck.

I've already played the "what will win" game to death, so I'm going to say who I think should win.
Picture: Million Dollar Baby - not only the best film this year, the best film in a long while Actor: Don Cheadle - Hotel Rwanda Actress: Hilary Swank - Million Dollar Baby Supporting Actor: Morgan Freeman - Million Dollar Baby Supporting Actress: Cate Blanchett - The Aviator Director: Clint Eastwood - Million Dollar Baby Adapted Screenplay: Paul Haggis - Million Dollar Baby Original Screenplay: Charlie Kaufman - Eternal Sunshine... Original Score: These are terrible nonimations. I cannot choose one piece of dung over the other. Same goes for original song Cinematography: Caleb Deschanel - The Passion of the Christ Costumes: Colleen Atwood - Lemony Snickets... (bad movie, great costuming) Art Direction: Dante Ferretti, Francesca LoSchiavo - The Aviator

I liked her character..I thought she did a good job. But Oscar? And to take her to that two timer club?
