"American Dad"

Did everyone see it? Thoughts? I think it had a few laughs but it's nothing great and most of the characters suck (the best is the alien that sounds like Paul Lind, and there ain't much there to work with!).
What I truly fear is that Seth McFarline is a little bit to into this show and will slouch on his duties to the great "Family Guy". Is it truly possible to do such similar shows at the same time? I don't think it's going to work and I seriously hope that "American Dad" just goes away as soon as possible (it's not even close to as memorable or funny as "Family Guy") and doesn't affect the return of "Family Guy" but we'll have to wait and see when Peter and the gang comeback May 1st, along with the debut of "American Dad" as a series.

I had low expectations. It was better than I thought. Season 1 of the Family Guy isn't my favorite either, so I'm willing to give this show some time to grow. Twas funny enough.

Still it's nice to know, when our bodies wear out, we can get another

I thought it was great, not as great as it could be-but very well done.

i thought the fish was funny, but i knew brian wouldn't be the only animal 2 talk. i do remember seeing the first family guy and cracking up thru the whole thing, especially when Kool-Aid broke thru the courtroom wall. OH YEAH!!!. hopefully american dad will get better with time, but if not, we have some new eps of family guy in may.

I don't think there is a bad episode of "Family Guy" or "The Simpsons" after season 2 or 3. They are both pretty fast paced and just have so many pop culture references and so much outlandish behavoir, you're going to get at least a few good laughs.

Beyond "American Dad" sucking or not, doesn't anyone think it will hurt "Family Guy", with the same guy doing these two shows at the same (or nearly the same) time as each other? I can't tell yet but I think it might. I would just save all the funny for "Family Guy". The alien scamming the girl for junk food was pretty funny.
