Shaun of the Dead I just saw this movie and liked it but I think it got a little bit serious. It had some great laughs though. I by no means dissapointed but I'm not sure if it's quite the cult classic people are making it out to be. Is it that great? Did anyone not like it at all?

I fuckin loved it. It DID get a bit fucking gory and serious towards the end, but it had me in such stitches at the beginning and middle that I think it is a cult classic, for sure!
One to buy on DVD! | |

LOVE THIS MOVIE.
The Prince mentions were hilarious. I'm such an 80's geek that right when he pulled out the sleeve to one of the records he was going to throw, I knew it was BLUE MONDAY by NEW ORDER. I liked that it was gory, funny and dramatic. I mean, when his stepdad talks to him in the car (I wont ruin it) I got a little misty. I bought it. "Standing in their way is an army of the undead, though they’re definitely of the more slow - moving Thriller variety, so much so that Shaun and Ed have enough time to rifle through Shaun’s collection of LPs to find suitable objects with which to decapitate them. “Not Sign o’ the Times, leave that. The Batman soundtrack? Throw it.”"

In the audio commentary one of the guys said that he was a Prince fan but that ""Batman" was the begining of the downturn but I did like "Diamonds And Pearls" after that." Those scenes were funny as hell.

I LOVE THIS MOVIE! it's dead funny. it's so tongue in cheek though it comes off as almost serious in places

I did enjoy it but thought it was over-hyped not sure it lived up to my expectations and i don't think i could sit through it again.

Love Queen in the fight scene. I thought this movie was hiliarous! And 'Dawn' and 'Tim' from "The Office" are in it; what's not to love?! "She made me glad to be a man"

Me too! And yes, the prince references were quite the added bonus. |

That's who that other blonde girl was! I kept thinking she was Emma Bunton. I didn't notice "Tim", though.... [Edited 2/6/05 17:52pm]

[Edited 2/6/05 17:52pm] From www.imdb.com There is a brief "Dawn and Tim" (_"The Office" (2001)_ ) reunion scene. In a backyard when Shaun's group meets the other "oddly similar" group of people led by Yvonne, Lucy Davis (Dianne) played Dawn the receptionist on "The Office", and Martin Freeman (Declan) played Tim. Their relationship was one of the major plot lines on that series. "She made me glad to be a man"

I liked this movie so much I was forced to make a mixed cd with "Don't Stop Me Now" on it for the car

Great film. It did get a bit serious towards the end, but it was still off the meat rack. Great effects also.
Better than that Dawn of the Dead remake. "You need people like me so you can point your fuckin' fingers and say, "That's the bad guy." "
