Im sure if your throwing a party in your house you wouldn't want someone coming in from out of town showing you that guess what! i don't care about you, this is all about caring and supporting each other for those who are coming to invade chitown your going to miss out on the time of your life. most of you never been to a party like this! its a time to share! and get real Purple1
OK. this ALLL started with me wanting to go visit my home town in Chicago. I usually try to do it so it overlaps on Prince Night. I told a few folks about it and some were interested in meeting up with me,,,so I mentioned an "invasion" as I knew that the org does this on occasion. Really the only P thing we were going to do was Berlin as it's just Chicago, and that'd be the only thing to do. The focus was to hang out with the people we chat with online. It just so happens that this is the weekend the Prince Fest got Booked...totally unrelated to what we were doing. We found out AFTER we decided to put together this invasion. The fest is open to all...it is an extra thing to do. Not everyone wants to do it. It shouldn't be mandatory, just cuz we're fans. Personnally, I have my own friends to see and hang with and will try to see all these guys and do a few of the activities...but even we don't force each other to do all the stuff. I'm llooking forward to seeing my friends in a non-prince atmosphere. ANd for the record...I encourage everyone to check out the fest or part of it if you want to...even better you'll actually be in town for such a thing. ANd I DO support Prince stuff. I throw tribute nights to him all the time...and support others that do so as well out here. We will also be posting the shcedule of events that we'll be doing and if people want to hang with us too, that's all good. I'll see you all for sure at Berlin! And the boat ride. My stars...I didn't realize that there apears 2 b some sort of friction between the 2 events ("Org Invasion" and the PFF)!!! When I posted the updated in4 about the PurpleFUNK Fest, I never intended 2 suggest that folks, who had already made plans 2 attent the "Org Invasion" should simply drop there plans and attend the "Fest". The "Fest" should b viewed as another vehicle 4 PRINCE (remember him...the reason why most of us came here 2 the Org) "fams" 2 "meet and greet"! If those of U that r coming 2 r city 4 the "Org Invasion" should also decide 2 attend the "Fest', it would put a huge smile on my face! If U decide against attending the "Fest", then I hope 2 c U at the Chicago NPGMC Party at The Berlin. The invasion is not an EVENT. We are talking 10-15 people TOPS. It's just folks who may live near the Chi-Town area who chat online and know each other to hang....get to know and see each other off line. It wasn't you who came on this thread and tried to shame those into going to the fest...it was someone else. This is a General Discussion forum and I forget sometimes we are Prince fans, and just speaking for myself, I really don't discuss him that much here anymore. I know these guys on a different level. I don't even know what album/era they like either. I really hope no one views this invasion as against the fest. Personally, I don't want my whole weekend to revolve around the fest, but more so my friends...some of whom, I'm meeting for the first time. Not to mention I'll be spending a lot of money just getting to chicago and while I am there...not sure if I wanna throw another 50 bucks at something I am not sure I'll like. I won't be going that weekend....I just started a new full time job and can't get the time off, plus I am getting paid time and a half for working memorial day . I hope everyone has fun and now everyone one will have a great time knowing I won't be there  . Be safe,Steph | |
