Thinking about a career in the beauty industry

Recently I have been seriously considering going to school for esthiology and nail techonlogy. I was going to school for Medical Assisting but I took this quarter off to seriously reconsider what I wanted to do. I think I got into Medical Assisting in the first place to impress my parents who wanted me to have a stable job but my heart just isn't in it. I can't explain the fear of doing a job that I hate every day for the rest of my life. I always wanted to do nails and esthiology but I was scared. I don't know about what but I really want to try it. I know my parents are going to be dissapointed because it is not a conventioal stable job but I need to do something I want to do. I was thinking of applying at Aveda instiute in Minneapolis but I am scared. Has anyone made a career change? What was the outcome? Should I go for it?

if you dont try... you may always wonder ...

If you are outgoing and a go getter that loves people, the field can be very profitable. It also depends on your area. I have been to Minneapolis but really don't know the industry there. I would think the winters may be slow. I work in OC in California. I love it. Have been in the industry for 20 years and here it is phenomenal.

I've always wanted to be a model. Like Naomi or Christa.
