I get your point but I wouldn't go on a date with someone without at least a conversation first. If there's nothing there once they open their mouth, it's pretty much over.

I am totally with you it's amazing how a superficially stunning person looses their appeal the second they speak, or behave a certain way. More importantly is that it is also true the other way round of course. someone who you fail to find attractive becomes attractive once you listen to them.

The first things that I look for in a potential mate are:

1. must be self-sufficient
2. reasonable fitness level (if not, we can work on it)
3. kindness
4. curious intellect
5. sex appeal (those little x factors)
6. good habits(not smoking,not doing drugs,not eating trashy foods, practicing good grooming habits, keeping surroundings clean, basic etiquette and politeness)

Almost anything else, I can work with. nod
