Ive never had any pet cats, so I'm not too too familiar with their ways, but do they cry like babies when theyre in heat???

For the past 4 days, Ive been hearing this moaning/crying outside my window. We do have alot of stray cats that hang out here because a lady in our building keeps feeding them. But at first I thought one of them was hurt or something, and I couldn't see where it was coming from.

I figure by now, if it was injured, it would have died. But every night, as soon as the sun goes down, the moaning/crying starts again.

Is it mating season?

I have heard cats cry when it is time!

cats moan and scream when they go into heat. and then when they're mating they scream some more because the male cat has a barbed penis. can you imagine if human males had barbed penises? then i'd be a nun for real.

I have heard the same thing several times.

One time I heard that sound it was like dolby surround sound. I looked out and I saw 2 cats screwing,I looked across and I saw my neighbor peeping out too. I dashed away from the window when she saw me, she did the same.


Ashamed of watching animals boink.

Probably a Tom cat too, maybe there is a female cat tucked away somewhere in your building he is calling too.....
When my cats were on heat, I used to get loads of grief from this big tom cat late at night, calling out to mine, scratching on the windows
Then a little while later I suddenly had 6 cats instead of the 2 I originally started with

We have had cats do that too. In the summer we had the windows open and it was really bad. Sounded like they were dying or something.

I heard that dogs and cats "lock in" when mating and deposit the most amount of sperm possible because both dogs and cats have several babies in their litters.
