Wedding gift suggestions?

Okay, folks:

Some friends of mine are getting married in a few weeks and I need a present. Oh, sure, I could give 'em some mazuma, but I wanna get them an actual gift. They are funky, artsy people (he is a photographer and she is an ex-fashion-model who now runs her own upscale dog-treats business). Any suggestions?

an Art peice, eg a painting. Do a little research, see what they like. Or commision an artist to do a painting of something they like, maybe one of his fav photos.

Byron

she is an ex-fashion-model who now runs her own upscale dog-treats business

lol lol...Ok, that cracked me up...lol biggrin

I got KingSausage and his lovely new wife a handmade wooden box that was painted all sorts of colors..and inside it I wrapped two hand-painted and decorated matchboxes (full of matches as well), one with David Bowie on it I think...and the other one with Bob Marley(??)...and attached a note saying "When you need some romance, use these to light some candles" (or some nonsense like that..lol)...

I also enclosed in the box two cans of soup..lol...I got KS a can of "Cream Of Girlfriend", and Amber (his wife) a can of "Cream Of Boyfriend", and attached a note saying "If you ever start thinking that you wish you were single again, open these up and relive the putrid taste of singlehood once more...then count your blessings" (well, something along those lines, anyway)...the cans of soup had long descriptions of the worst boyfriends and girlfriends in the place where "ingredients" would normally be...lol

And lastly, I got them a $500 United Airlines gift certificate, good for two years...and attached a note to it saying "If you ever just feel you need to get away for a weekend...no, not from each other, I mean together, ya morons" (or thereabouts..heh)...They ended up going to San Francisco with the voucher.. thumbs up!...Unfortunately, I couldn't make it up there in time to meet them. sad

That...was one of my better gifts...I enjoyed that one. smile

These are actually two very level-headed people who have been together for quite a while. While one can never predict the future, I'd say they stand a very good chance of sticking it out.
